  • Interesting to see a calm nile. I'm assuming it takes a bit of effort, patience and so on to get him like that.

  • Nice looking monitors. Miss my Nile and my Savannahs. Get them young they are like puppy dogs...follow you and will eat from your hand easily.

  • your nile looked dead in the first part

  • I'm imprest. How did you get the tame nile? Mine would never be that tame lol.

  • How hard was it to get them so tame?

  • @Ultimategrid asian water monitors are generally always tame but i dont know about niles

  • @c0rnmorphs

Niles are usually some of the most aggressive (or should I say defensive) lizards out there. It's rare to have a "tame" nile.

  • How many species of Monitor Lizards do you have?

  • Out of both them what one will be bigger and how old are they

  • Im just saying - your gonna need a bigger bath soon =L

  • which one is your nile and which one is the asian water monitor??

  • @95efren the nile is the one with more/ brighter spots!

I like the look of the nile more...but waters are almost always more chill

  • i love the yellow nile monitors its my dream to get one but i dont have a big enclosure

  • Can two different types of monitors mate ?

  • @ajra94 actualy yes they can there are two different hybrids i know of the white throat and black throat hybrid and the flavi and argus

  • Sweet! I subscribed. You should check out Gobo, my Asian water monitor. I hope to get some vids of her up soon.

  • It is a regular nile, with nice coloring but what usually happens is that the camera gives it a different color than it actually is

  • can a nile nd water breed by chance?

  • BEASTLY!!! (as in awesome!)

  • Beautiful Monitors! That's awesome that they get along.

  • Good video, nice animals. I've had a small nile for a couple months. That thing was crazy. Unfortunatly I had it in a less than adiquate enclosure and it escaped and I never saw it again. That was more than ten years ago. Not such a noob now. Getting ready to pick up a baby water or black throat this week. Can't wait!

  • @StrangeWorld18 What happened when you took a bath with your monitor lizard ?

  • @StrangeWorld18 i still do =) im a slow learner

  • how u get them tame

  • most of them are that tame if you take care of them right.

  • i have a savannah monnitor but i thought niles never got tame like that

  • beautiful monitors man I love the nile!

  • um... were they mating?

  • no it would be way more aggressive than that and the females tail would be lifted up a little so the male could slide under

  • which one is the nile???

  • the one on the left with the really bright yellow coloring

  • the yellow

  • it looks like there mating (1:55)

  • Niles are extremely aggresive.

  • I have a Young water monitor, i see yours have basically no temper problems, do you have any tips about theyre behavior???

  • Water monitors are usaully calm, and cool, but Niles, unlike them are very aggresive.

  • they are BEAUTIFUL

  • want to get baby water monitor do you have any tips for me?

  • heres a good tip

    dont get one.

  • Keep good handling of it, I have a few mates that have one. Once they grow up, they'll love you and have respect for you. Don't treat it badly, cause they have a snap that hurts lol.

  • cool i got one asian water monitor myself..um btw mine is kinda smelly and doesnt like going out of its hide box

  • aww there in love lmao!! i just got a nile today wanna give me any tips?

  • very cool, you should give me one

  • Very very nice salvator looks just like mine but about 3 times bigger and twice as calm lol, but you've got a lot of great lookins varanids. I plan on owning, along with my salvator that is, an ionides (blackthroat), argus, and maybe a nile for shits and giggles because there's no way i'm going to even try to tame it if I do get one it;s going to be a wild beast lol. But like I said great looking lizards!

  • Amazing...simply amazing. your nile is so calm

  • haha the nile's just kinda chillin at the bottom

  • badass! how did you get them so tame? you have to tell me. i have a juvinile nile monitor and its whipping and bitting and i cant break it out of it. any tips? oh and i hear that water monitors are nicer than niles. is that true?

  • if you just put them in the tub with you without water just let em run around you and get use too you... seem's to work for lots of people

  • yea. water monitors are huge but they tend to be easily tamed... unlike the nile

  • yes i dont own 1 but ive heard alot nicer and ive heard niles r worst =(

  • u can put them 2gether?

how the fuck did u manage that?

    LoL

  • They look like good friends, don't they?

  • hmm they seem to get along quite well if your lucky maybe you can try geting a hybrid

  • Its like nooooo he's dead o well let him stay there lol.!? And nice they like each other very nice vid 5/5

  • i like the coloring on your asian monitor its pretty :D

  • Stunning looking monitors! Very healthy looking too. And impressive to see how at ease they are with you. That was interesting watching one of them swimming near the end. Where I am on Kangaroo Island, I see Rosenberg's Goannas in the wild...one of which Ive got footage of here online.

  • do you feed them live food or frozen/thawed ?

  • mate good job am happy with wot i see here

  • stunning mate!

  • I'm just amazed @ how chill your Monitors are around you. 0_o

  • all water monitors feel safe in the water.

  • @iG587 They are on shrooms :))

  • how big are they?

  • both 3-4ft

  • whoa hes under the water!

  • Hey wats good dawg. I got a nile n water as well. They are both babies right now, living peacefully together. Im jus wondering did urs ever mate and reproduced?

  • Lol your monitors will hurt each other when they get older if you have them housed together DAWG!

  • you are right but only the nile, in the wild nile monitors fight but asians wrestle so only the nile is the problem but they never have and never will live together.

  • hey my name is eddy and i work at a zoo... the only way to tell if its a male or not is if they deficate you need to see if they have hemipenes if it does then its a male and if not then its a female. and males have 2 hemipenes which are really 2 penis's. i have to say cool vid but i wouldnt recomend keeping a nile and a water monitor together. for one they live in 2 completely different environments and 2 they would never meet in the wild so having 2 together is very unnatural.

  • Listen Eddy dont come round here all billy big balls, were are your videos???, they have not and do not live together so chill out , the enviroment is different but also the same they both spend most of there lives in the water. and how you can talk about unatural working in a zoo i dont know. you keep animals from all over the world under on roof!!

  • hey i was wondering how hard was it to determine the sex of the nile. how were you able to tell?

  • when the nile deficates he will display his Hemipenes to put it simply monitors have two dicks if male, when they deficate they push one or both out of there body, they will somtimes do this when scared or if you pick them up, if your not sure feed well then put in water and wait you should get a look.

  • Is your nile an ornate?I believe you told me already but not sure he is a beauty!Dam Im so getting one man

  • He is common, ornates have five rows on the back between shoulder and hip and live in forest cover they also grow bigger in weight not lenght. commons have 7/8 rows on there back, you can also tell a common by colour of the tounge commons have grey/blue Ornates have pink. i like them both but i preffer commons because they have better colours when adult. how much niles cost you in the states?

  • well niles for me,being as though I got the hook up cost me around 10 dollars as babies depending on when they come in.But on the regular $20 Petstores charge &40-50

  • Shame there so cheap means more people who dont know what there doing buy them. do you need licences for niles in the states?

  • Is your nile bigger then your water I mean older?

  • Nile is older he's 3 years, Asian is 2 shame their both male if they werent i could leave them alone together.

  • WOW! I love male nile monitors im not into breeding monitors just like there company It's funny cuz I was gonna ask you if you tried breeding the 2/I mean if white throats and blackthroats can why cant a nile and water?I bet NERD did it already, lol

  • until 8 years ago black and white throats were all classified as varanus exanthematicus, they have only recently been seperated but they are still very closly related. the nile and asian are not so close biggest problem is size of reproductive organs not a good match besides i try not to get into un natural species if it dont exist in the wild i dont want it.i do like the look of some of those man made snakes by nerd but i would never keep them.

  • All of the niles I've seen cost 30-40 dollars. Licences depends on the state. Here in California you need a wild animal permit, but these animals are sold without one. I recently had to stop the sibling of my baby nile from being sold to a 7 year old hispanic boy. I've seen some inexperienced, ignorant people owning animals like this far too many times.

  • mine was 80$ and in cali you dont need a permit

  • Not in PA where im currently staying but you do need it in Florida the niles there hvae becames pest as if there over population of iguanas was'nt bad enough lol.

Yeah but most ppl rather have savannahs cause thats what most pet stores prefer or usually have.

  • Thats good for niles because most people get fed up of being bitten and whiped, i quite like it, its a challange and when they do become more docile you get a real sense of achivement until they bite you again.i will probly never understand why people want lizards with broken spirits that allow themselves to be mastered, with monitors it has to be more balanced if my nile is pissed i will leave it alone so you could say he controls me somtimes.
