I've worked on a few of these 850s, all Turbo, working on another one soon. But they actually do have a stout bottom end if they are factory Turbo, I've heard rumors of them taking 15+ pounds of boost stock and holding for a long time.

@Chevypower265 Lol rumors. You make it sound like its something magical. The stock rods on a t5 can handle at the most around 315 to 330 bhp. Usually most people can turn the boost up to about 16-17 psi but on the stock 15g turbo anything past that is inefficient and can be dangerous. Really the rod killer with these cars is the small turbo producing too much boost at a very low rpm. Most cars should think twice messing with a t5 on the highway. Not to mention the growl they make is amazing.

@pac850 I'm not trying to make it sound like anything magical, I just thought that was pretty well considering thats with stock parts, I agree that once you past a point it hurts more then it helps. I agree with you about the small Turbo boosting at a low RPM, I recently fixed one with a stuck wastegate and causing it to build boost at idle, it would fall on its face. And yes, they do sound amazing!
