yes it's a widescreen but i think the movie is stretched up for a reason that i don't know.

if u can see the difference between the footage taken from the viewsonic cam recorded on the harddrive and edited with the cam footage, the one from viewsonic is normal aspect ratio and his face is fine but the one from the cam it's stretched up and his face too that's why the monitor looks 4:3.

The VX2255WMB is indeed wide screen. It looks like the video was compressed to 4:3, which also distorts the monitor's shape.
