A wonderful song, interpreted well by a great musician. I have long been angry at the lack of respect shown to the Romany and Traveller people (Why is racism towards the people of the road acceptable, especially by the 'chattering classes' in England? Similar attitudes towards black people would land them in jail.).

@AmazingFriendlyApple Quite a few who label themselves as The Travelling Community do a great disservice to their memory of those gentle folk of times gone by looking for a glass of water or maybe some corner of a field to camp for a night or two these areare tings of the past... .. Different times You will never see a 'Tinker' to mend some pot or pan ... McColl was right, times have changed......'Old ways are going... your travelling days will soon be over'. Now it's all Tarmac and Furniture
