  • @ wsbill, with good ear plugs..

  • I need him so, his consumption how much?

me the 851 sound of the centaurus he has a very good sound kept up with, diesel!! :)

  • what rpm do you get the top speed at? I am thinking of doing the same thing with the same motor (ruggerini is kohler now), with a 29/56 tooth primary (mainly to save the clutch) and a 20/38 secondary. i figure if the 3600rpm redline motor can pep to 3400 with all the resistance, i'll still get a 110kmph top speed. Could you tell me what tooth gearing are you using?

  • @brutussandhu

Top speed of 97km/h is at 3600rpm. I don't remember the tooth gearing.

Speed quickly drops below 80 km/h when going uphill... Maybe your Ruggerini can do better.

  • @dl3daz

Somehow i got the idea its using a ruggerini, but after watching your other video, i stand corrected. That quite a top wack for a single cylinder. Thank you and take care

  • good cam position it was nice

  • I think the prize for converting fuel to noise is still held by any General Motors 2 stroke diesel, as is the environmental award for recycling, returning most of the lube oil to the ground via leaks between services. I love this bike, I'm sure the sound is nothing that a set of ear protectors couldn't handle!! But 97 km/h on an Enfield ? you sure your not a kamakazi pilot?

  • Sorry to "spam", can't seem to edit prior posts. Does it blow much smoke, much like some of the diesel cars do?

Fuel economy is, wow, impressive. How is the acceleration?

  • @G200Sleepr Not really smoke. It is spitting small pieces of coal ;-)

The acceleration is there. Not much more than a few minutes to reach 97km/h.

  • Wow, definately a unique noise, not my cup of tea, but big thumbs up :)

  • Perhaps 160 mpg?

  • stick a 6000 rpm tachometer on it :D

  • lol

    chopper battle

    V2 4-stroke vs this

    anyway this is fukin nice

  • Endlich eine solide (auch akustische) Antwort auf die hysterisch kreischenden Fernost-Teile !

  • geil, ein Trecker auf 2 Rädern. Die Tachonadel wackelt wie ein Lämmerschwanz.

  • If equipped with a Hatz Diesel these are the emissions:

    CO0,58 g/km

    HC+NOx0,48 g/km

    NOx0,42 g/km

    CO246 g/km

Kraftstoffverbrauch im Fahrzyklus 1,8l /100 km

  • I can't wait to get mine! I still have to wait 6 weeks!

  • hey the petrol version gives fuel consumption of 35 km per litre and u say this diesel gives 50 per litre no way and if it does then can i use bio diesel as its more cheaper 21 pence per litre and i can save 3 fourth on biodiesel money

  • I am using 2/3 Diesel and 1/3 straight vegetable oil. The engine runs smoother with this mixture.

As far as I can see, biodiesel should be ok.

  • thnx for the tip dl3 daz but i think i will use

1/3 dieswl and 2/3 vege oil for more economical performance . hey is this enfield diesel bike 15 litres tank or 20 litre tank capacity .

cheers , looking forward to hear from you .

is their a place where i can buy ready made vege oil for it says on internet 21 pence per litre .

or should i buy my own vege oil machine and make at home .

can u tell me where u get ur vege oil from

  • alien0princess, points just to help & clarify. Firstly, the tank holds 13.5 litres, which is 2.96 imperial gallons. With the 462cc Hatz diesel engine, this gives a safe minimum range of 500km or 312 miles on approx 2.75 gallons of diesel fuel.

Vegetable oil may be more financially economic, but gives approx 15% less mpg than diesel due to its lower calorific content. With the above engine, up to 158 mpg can be obtained on diesel fuel. Giving a maximum range of 435 miles on 2.75 gallons.

  • @dl3daz Very nice motorcycle.. brutifule!! :-)

  • enfield rulez rodemy frds back 10 years ago , it was wicked , so im now going to buy in the future and modify the seats a little lower like the harleys customise it

    it will be wicked

  • what is the top speed and what will it cruise at? fuel consumption of course will be great.

  • Top speed is 97kph. Fuel consupmtion is about 2l/100km.

  • My God, I almost went deaf just watching the video! It seems to do an even better job than a Harley at converting fuel into noise without much unwanted speed! How can you stand the hammering of your eardrums?

  • We do call it "sound", not "noise" ;-)

And it is not as loud as the cheap camera's microphone suggests.

  • Diesel gives more push for the buck!! I love diesels. Always have. Always will.

  • Gotta love the diesel sound.

  • Kind of clattery sounding, but I could live with that. I like the idea of diesel on a large bike . . .the mileage would be great, and two-up motoring would be effortless. Did you change the gearing to compensate for the torque? I guess the original gear box is up to it.

  • I think a gearing ratio adjustment is not required, since this bike BORNS with diesel engine, it's originally equipped w/that kind of engine.

  • Damn. That sounds amazing, Ive always wanted to combine my passion for diesel with my passion for motorbikes.

  • Hi and thanks for the short trip. I'm a diesel engineer and a collector of Royal Enfields but I cant quite make my mind up about putting the two together. Fuel economy, long engine life, it can't be beaten with the diesel, but its loud. Certainly couldn't call it a stealth bike. Love diesel and Enfields all the same. Regards from England.

  • you are right, diesel engine are great, fuel economy is a big advantage. What kind of engine are you working on with yout job? Big engine like truc or train engine or small? Do you know why there isn't any diesel scooter in the world? it must have a very nice fuel economy! see you later

    greetings from Switzerland

  • Hi. Alas I'm out of engineering just now with a blown back, but I worked in Rolls Royce Diesel Div in the UK building DV8 civilian and marine engines for tugs and refrigeration ships etc, before moving to the potent military units. Enjoy tinkering with small units now though as a hobbby, and love to see loco and ship power plants at work. Regards from Blighty.

  • Super, der Sound ist ja wahnsinnig!

    Vergesst angebohrte Auspuffe!

    Ein hoch auf den Diesel!
