@Oafah I think it's just because the band was quite road-weary at this point. They had been touring pretty much non-stop for 5 months, so Ed's vocals were definately a bit worn out here.

You gotta realize that this at is Red Rocks. It's up at 8000 feet. It's REALLY hard to get your breath when you're singing up there. Especially a song like this with a ton of fast words. I've played at Red Rocks 5 or 6 times in my touring career ......

......and by the end of the show you're ready to just pass the fuck out.

Then you go backstage and suck on an oxygen tank for 10 minutes.
