  • Yo u fuckin fag u made me blow my xbox up

  • Great help

  • think you for helpin me out my xbox360 work good now

  • @scorpion6568 I have performed this mod and it has done nothing but make my xbox run more loud but more cool as well. The RROD is caused by a short if the exposed wire touches the metal cage. All you do is unplug the xbox from the wall and plug it back in then fix the wire with electrical tape or shrink tubing. This mod also will help slow not prevent but slow the process of getting RROD.

  • xenon motherboard ?

  • Thank you so much for this video, I just did it on my xbox 360 (1st Gen) and now it runs cool now to figure out the video problem.

  • This works great, thanks!

  • Ps3 is for fags that jack off all day and that's a piece of SHIT!!

  • Never mind the cord wasnt plugged in lmfao

  • i just did this and it shorted out my power cord that plugs into the wall

  • Fuck this IM BUYING A NEW 360

    =)

  • idk why people are saying the dvd drive is a bad place to grab 12v from. its perfectly fine, doesnt effect the performance of the disc drive at all, and doesnt cause 3 red rings. how can a mod that spins the fans faster (thus keeping the system cooler) cause the 3 red rings (which is a problem caused by the OVERHEATING and bridging of connections underneath the gpu/cpu/ram)? great tutorial, did this to my friends xbox and its running great so far

  • @insanespad45 congras dude, i glad its working out or you guys

  • @crazynstupid1023 me cousin just done this to 2 xbox both working great

  • What's the song after sweet emotion

  • 1:02 thumbs up for cool pyjama bottoms :D

  • all those games better be pirated SMH!

  • Yeah Aerosmith!! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet eeemooooootion(:

  • Drawing power directly from Power Cable?? One Word "fire" this mod will also give you the RROD due to cutting and rejoining. If the connection is not tight enough you will get the RROD also possible FIRE so be aware.

    S

  • Sorry but it's not recommended to draw your power from the dvd cable, there are better positions on the motherboard, it does require soldering but is extremely easy to do.

  • would this possible help the E74 error?

  • I did this mod, then I plugged everything back in, and instead of getting the 2 red rings.. i got the 3 ring! WHAT WENT WRONG! HOW DO I FIX THIS? PLEASE HELP!

  • @goofywhiz did you do the xclamp fix before attemping this?

  • @crazynstupid1023 my heat sink(the large one) is cosmetically damaged. I have done the x-clamp fix and got my xbox running but now red ring keeps recurring. If i do the 12 v fan mod will my cosmetically damaged heatsink effect chances of red ring reappearing?

  • @AvtomatPruneJuice you can try it,but the heatsink might need to be replaced. if the air isnt flowing through the heatsinks properly tha could cause the 3 red lights

  • @goofywhiz yo uscrew it because faulty voltaje... you should meet electronics basis before entering the matrix

  • @Abnesis its okay.. i fixed it.

  • @goofywhiz mine went to 3 red lights too, now i dont know what to do

  • @goofywhiz You probably need to replace the paste on the GPU & CPU chips. Get Artic Silver from Radio Shack,

thoroughly clean the chips & heat sinks, then put the new paste on them. Replace XClamps & you're done.

Oh yeah, be sure your heat sinks are clean...get rid of any dust. DO NOT use bolts to replace your X Clamps

like you see suggested on many YouTube repairs.

  • @goofywhiz -buy a ps3!the xbox is shit!

  • what i want to know is why are you up 2 in the morning doing this? haha 0:01

  • cool shit man, gonna give this a try since my xbox keeping rrod still after doing xclamp fix.

  • @tpp27

update: just did this mod and although my xbox now sounds like a jet ill take that over rrod. i also added tinfoil on top of the gpu heatsink to help the air flow/heating issue. thanks again for the vid.

  • @tpp27 Also, try putting pennies on the four black squares on the bottom of the motherboard. it helps absorb heat.

  • 5:54 Thats what she said lmfao <3

    Thanks for the tutorial btw.

  • @BSUMusic hahaha your very welcome dude

  • Comment removed

  • thanks man! i have never done anything like this before but i did it anyways :) also I used me teeth instead of a wirestripper or what you called it and it worked just fine. subbed

  • work i tested my brothers xbox and mine and i see a diffrence

  • haha u burned your self

  • Is your monitor the W2007V?

  • I will suggest you dont do this as the mod will be consuming more power than supposed to usually ending up killing the X360.

I will recommend using another power source for the fan.

Nice mod and thanks for posting.

  • Did your xbox get rrod?

  • Nicely done but x-box sounds like a vacuum cleaner. :))

  • I got a console with fans not running at all. Can I re-wire the fans (including ground wires) to the dvd cable? Or will that screw up the system?

  • thank you so fucking much u save my box

shit was two secs from the dumpster

  • it broke my fan

  • Thumbs up for Biggie. LoL

  • my fans run on 12v in my xbox, but its actually funny on how i managed it. I spliced the fan cable, to be able to add a new fan to mount on the CPU, well it turns out when i was testing it, the wires crossed, i ran the charge through the ground and shorted my xbox. The fans kicked to 12v, got extreamly loud, then red ringed, i unplugged it all, put it back together, upluged everything and plugged i back in, it then was fine, but now my fans are stuck in 12v lol....

  • "the air at the back is pretty cool, cold actually"

you do realise that if there is hot air coming out of the back that its a good thing right? it means that its taking the hot air from inside the console, if its cold air coming out the back then your fans are useless as their just leaving the xbox cook

  • @AkyraSGL Dude he just turned it on. The chips didn't have time to heat up. The air will be cold coming out the back no matter what right after you turn it on.

  • can i do this to a whisper fan??

  • Awesome mod,Thanks for sharing.

  • dude just found out that Microsoft put my fan on backwards wtf

  • @machomamajr it was blowing air in?

  • @tfoshohoe ya

  • @machomamajr glad you got it before it gave you rrod

  • THANK YOU!..Dude This worked..Thx 4 the info!

  • 7:55 ITS MY JAM

  • yeah its cool for the first few seconds but after a min im sure it will warm up . Nothing beats talismoon so quite and keeps your console cool i dont think the originall fans are supposed to run like that

  • works great

  • does '24' gauge wire work for the "spare wire"?

  • why dont you just use a 12v varable temp sensing unit to modify the fan speed on the fly based on temp.. you can buy them online all day long for next to nothing. and it keeps your xbox quiet!

  • Song at 4:45?

  • 1:33 course its gunna be cool... you only just turned it on >.<

  • i just did this to my brothers xbox because it keeps getting the rrod....... will the fans break ???

  • WORKS REALLY NICE BRO BUT! I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM,

mine shows a red light and i used the towel trick 2 times and still does not show any greed rings what should i try???

  • this was the best tutorial I found, nice for showing that pic of the dvd cable and saying botton right, that helped a lot,I did this and my xbox runs great now

  • can this get you banned from live

  • @ryanpunk77 no are you stupid microsoft is really going to be all like ohh this guy is insane for upgrading his fans ohh it slipped [Banned till 12/31/9999] and this is not a lie but i sent my xbox to them and they did the exact same thing as this guy did

  • I did the same to mine it's loud but its worth not getting RROD and mine is a all black 360 elite and i modded Blue LED's

  • holy shit thats loud..

  • Why did you buy 2 Xbox 360's lol why didnt you just use the one u already modded

  • @crusher253 any cables work as long as it is a whire that is stripped

  • will 24 gauge steel cable work its preety thin

  • hey i was wondering does the sound ever get annoying really like the video tho nice job im kinda considering doing this

  • do this and use a nyco inter cooler.it will be ice old.

  • whats the music in the background please tell me!!!!

  • Will this be a permanent fix to E74 error? will it keep my 360 cool enough to avoid getting RROD or E74?

  • @unrewritable should be

  • This looks pretty cool and all but I'm not sure if i would do it or not I would probably screw it up lol.

CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL FOR FREE MICROSOFT & PSN CARDS!!!!

  • i did this it work i am stoked thankssss

  • Where do u get that fan from, is it in ur xbox?

  • Thx worked great and very simple thx to your tutorial 5 stars!

  • so that's why my xbox's SOOOO loud, didn't know that, got it from a friend

  • can this cause your 360 banned from live if done?

  • @ninjatyler1 no it cant

  • @ninjatyler1 are u stupid?

  • Where you put it

and when u start the video i hvnt c the red buttons

  • Where you put it

  • If i buy 2 more 12v fan and intertwine all 3...also the fan in the back to the motherboard wire would that be a smart move or will it be 2 much for it 2 handle

  • @OsirisdaGreat i thoughrt of this i heard it will fuck up your dvd rom

  • Worked like a charm. Great tutorial.

  • What kind of motherboard is your 360? Is it a Zephyr/Opus/Falcon etc..?

  • Nice pajamas!!!

  • Main reason im doing this, is because i am getting over heated.. but more importantly, trying to add led's to my 360 i fried my fan connecter that is on the board.. therefor i can no longer use that connection... Obviously i can use the dvd drive wire for the positive. BUT WHAT DO I USE FOR THE GROUNd?!?! considering i fried my can connector on the board... ANY SUGGUESTIONS PLEASE!?!?

  • @XThreeSixtyModz You can ground a wire to the metal case if you like (as long as you make sure you screw in your plastic case to it). Google xbox 360 12v sources or I can send you a link to some sites with pics.

  • so what do u do with the brown wire?

does it go to the extra wire that leads to the dvd power cable??

  • This didnt work for me.

  • Thumbz up for the Monster Energy Can !!!!! :D

  • @rebelientje Can I use any wire even cut one from a old cell phone charger like from a 10v charger cable for example?.

  • worked thanks

  • can i use something else instead of the speaker wire? And those cables r already in the xbox right?

  • @Rocky13Ray just cut the wires that are in your xbox 360 soo they can reach from the drive power port to the fans power port and you are okay. There is no need for the speaker wire.

  • @3mfriday Thanx man can i do it without a speaker wire?

  • were did u get the wire from? Can u send me a short vid or somethin plz?

  • Nice Video well shown 8-)

  • is there no cable that can go from same mother as the xbox360 to the fans?

do you hae to absolutely cutt and solder?

  • How do you assemble it back together, you just plug the DVD drive back in and you Fan back in too right?

  • @TechAndTutorials yes thats it!

  • @crazynstupid1023 THANKS DUDE only got 1 fan working at the start but after a bit more soulderding got both fans running at 12v :)

  • @crazynstupid1023 how do u take the fan out and my 360 has a standard 3 wire plug like computers

  • One question: by doing this, are you sure that I'm not doing more damage to console? Why the original console, doesn't use that source of power(from dvd)? Maybe you could do some power leaks, or something like this. Pls answer. Thanks

  • @eduardooo123 hey this is what they do the xbox is programmed to keep its self under controll with the fans but if it ever gets over heated once than it will happen more often so i sent mine in and they did that exact same thing

  • GOOD VIDEO ! but i have mine blowing cold air in ! cools WAY better, filed the housing on the sides of the fan shield and reversed the air flow works WAY BETTER !simple to a gaming pc to want to blow cold air in right, I know there also an exhaust fan,,but not enough room in the xbox for that fancy shit !

  • i took the fan off my original xbox can i add it to my xbox 360 it has red and black wires on it

  • and the jasper? what cable cut? is the different colours

  • Excellent mod!!! Thanks a bunch

  • thanks for this tutorial, it really helped me out man. keep up the great videos : )

  • DUDE !!!! THX for this master tutorial it really works you are DA' MASTER !!!

    FROM: Venezuela

  • did anything happen when u played online?

  • Great vid man thanks. Now its just the 2 red lights? ive tried everyting!

  • is this really efficient cuz i bought a jtagable that has this installed let me know kthx

  • Nice pants lol

  • just finished:) wish you were a bit more descriptave and had more pictures but all in all i could manage. thanks mate

  • poor tutorial, your horrably undescriptive on what wires to put where and im pretty sure because of you i just broke by fans...

  • can you conect the origanal xbox fan to it because it only has the black and red wires if there is tell me whitch one to conect to the disk drive

  • the 5 volt factory setting is there so your fans dont overwork, thus over heating your system...

  • @GorillaGrower420 The fans are 12 volt fans. They say it right on them.

  • Did you have any problems with play games on the DVD drive?

  • @DEbestcustomxbox360 nope no problems at all!

  • i have a 12v stock fan.

  • Okay this is a really dumb noob question, but what do you mean by speaker wire? Just wire from the back of any speakers?

  • Nice vid! Wondering if you know how to hook up the stock xbox fan to an external

    power source?

  • Thank you for all your help! The video was a huge help for my over heating xbox 360 problem. Now i just gota learn how to install some exterior ide fans and ill be set. Right now i have about 4 led fans running on my xbox aswel as your fan mod, the thing is i cant figure out how to attach a switch running from my pc power supply so that it can activate my fans. I hope that you or someone can help me out.

    Thanks

    DarkCeberus.

  • Can u use any kind of wire? i want to mod my xbox fans but im not sure what kind of wire i should be using??

  • thank's for the great tutorial :)

  • Do u know if Aurora vent lights and a fan can be connected from the same source?(the DVD drive)

  • @yugisoccerkid909 yes you can. i just recently did that to tmy cousins xbox and it runs fine!

  • Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial.

  • i hav ebeen trying to fix my XBOX 360 because i have 5 and the are all right on top of each other and it gets very HOT. i have tryed this on all of them and

    Gess WHAT

    IT REALLY WORKS!!!

    THANK YOU

  • nice mod so i take it the bottom set of wires on the dvd drive are positive and the top is your ground?if you cut the ground cable on the fan

  • Thanks my friend, you rock!!

  • I have two xboxes one that's probably been tampered with and one is my main one which I've recently fixed using the heat gun and griddle method, I want to practice this mod on the tampared one and if it's successful can I use the cables from that xbox and replace it onto my main xbox? Don't want to get banned and spend more money on equipment so please please help!

  • @smallfry14 yes you could use the cables from the other xbox. you just have to make sure that the fans would fit. i dont know which xboxs you have but the new ones have a 3 prong connector and the older ones have the 4 prong..

  • @crazynstupid1023 I've finished modding the fan and it's pobably the easiest solution ever! I really didn't want to end up spending more money on more tools like Soldering equipment. Thank you for the tutorial it really helped a bunch!

  • This mod def works. Had it on my console for 2 yrs now and besides the loud fan no complaints!

  • Do you plug both plugs in or just the one DVD to motherboard plug?

  • Thanks u so much for this guide my xbox was overheating wasn't sure what to do this helped me ! thanks

  • can u still get on live after this?

  • @pauliedapunisher yes you can still play on live!

  • dude this mod worked thanks so much u just saved my xbox lmao but seriously you did

  • @booey444 your welcome man!

  • i did this modd and it ran great!! i also did another 12v fan modd add on to it it ot work better than great and now my xbox only gets warm after a really long day even if it start to get hot since summer is around the corner... i put in a 3 speed 80 mm fan with leds and its like i need to shut it off so it has to warm up.. lol but seriously my xbox is rrod proof!!!

  • i hear sweet emotion in the backround

  • i did this myselft but i used connectors for the wires. i would not recommend electric tape + fire. best way wuold be to solder the wires and then put some shrink tube over it. This mod is good if you're xbox is running very hot even in dashboard like mine. After this mod it stays cool almost 24/7. My box has the x-clamp fix made to it because of rrod but i'm hoping the fan mod will make the xbox last even longer.

  • im meaning to solder the wires. im just to lazy to go out and buy one. my old one broke

  • great job.

Q: Did the xbox stays cool will you play it in vertical position?

  • it stays just as cool as playing in the horizontial postion

  • awesome video, i blew the fan's stock power supply in my box and used this to fix it, plus it stays way cooler...

  • sweet bro camren <3

  • why in sam hell do you have 2 sbox;s

  • @TheMatrix1023 other one is modded and other one is for live, i guess?
