  • Goosebumps!

  • @jeremyunderground41 Sounds like Coldplay? You don't know what Coldplay sounds like huh?

  • 4:23 one of the best music parts ever.

  • My cat starts purring and mewling when I put this song on. Even animals know Thrice is fucking godlike.

  • very sad news to hear of the extended hiatus of such an awesome band. i love the shit out of these guys and they've done so much for me over the years. definitely looking forward to them getting back together, however long that may be.

  • Thrice! I don't know what happens. Every record gets better. WHY???

  • sounds like COLDPLAY??? I miss the thrice's signature post hardcore sound

  • @jeremyunderground41 did you just compare thrice to coldplay?

  • I love Thrice, but everyone on here seems to be making them seem like a Jesus-obsessed Christian band. I'm aware of Kensrue's religiousness, but don't make it seem like anyone who doesn't interpret all of their songs in a Christian context is an idiot. Bums me out really, poor deluded people...

  • @ebninjadude How do you interpret this song? True many of their songs have no Christian context, but I feel the biblical influence in this one is rather blatant...

  • @thomascperez No I completely agree for this song, it's very blatant and everything. That was more directed at the people acting like every song Thrice has ever written has to mean something about jesus or christianity. It's kind of ridiculous when they shoot people down for not having that interpretation about everything they listen to. People should be able to enjoy music and make up their own interpretations, rather than saying "it has to mean (insert bible rantings and bs here)."

  • @thomascperez also, go see thrice live with there new album, i saw them for the second time on the 30th and they were fantastic with their new stuff lol.

  • @ebninjadude

Haha, ya, went to see them live about a month ago. Hands down best concert I've ever been to :D

Yeah, I get what you mean now with people assuming Christian context with all the songs. There was a comment on yellowbelly about how biblical it is. No, just no. :P

  • @thomascperez Definitely not with Yellow Belly. Considering how almost heavy-handed the Christian context is with the rest of Thrice's lyrics since Vhiessu, I would think that the non-Christian bits would start to stand out more, like a vocal minority.

Which kinda makes me sound like I don't like all the God stuff. Totally not true.

  • My favorite song from this album used to be Treading Paper; after that it was Listen Through me, then Blinded, and finally this one. However I regard every song on Major/Minor as a masterpiece, but the raw emotion of Dustin's voice when singing this song really wins it over for me. Perfection, pure perfection.

  • This song makes me want to start a petition for youtube to introduce an infinite replay button.

  • somebody give these men their Grammy Award.

  • This song is amazing. And it has a 5/8 beat. Amazing song by Thriceeeeee!

  • @Midknightdrummer I think it shifts to 3/4 (or 3/8?) during the chorus too if I'm not mistaken

  • @wllychng21 It shifts to 6/8 in the chorus, which is basically 3/4

  • @wllychng21 Nope it goes 5/8 then 6/8 then in the verse it goes back to 5/8 then the chorus is 6/8 etc. etc. Stuff like that is incredible to me. Listen to Dream Theater (any song by them) and they do crap like that alllll the time. It's amazing.

  • only good song from M/m unfortunately.

  • @amorrroholic, take one course in writing or music appreciation, and see if you have the same opinion. The musical composition is amazing, and the lyrics are sheer poetry. Dustin Kensrue is a genius. Major/Minor is easily one of my favorite albums. It might be my favorite album, period. Now, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but there is also something called artistic value... and this album is chock full of it.

  • @amorrroholic

Try listening to it again, maybe you're missing something.

  • dear thrice,

you made me bang my head. you made me smile. you made me cry. and at least you make me believe in real and honest music. fuck yeah. this one goes out to all the people who share this wonderful piece of music. no homo.

  • One of the greatest songs ever done, never heard something beautiful!

  • This song makes me cry and worship Jesus all everyday!

  • @musicman

Amen! I'm glad that someone understands the meaning of this song! So many of Dustin's songs are misunderstood...but he sings straight from Scripture at times and very clearly about his faith in Jesus in many of them! I wish more people could understand this and worship Jesus as they listen to their music!

    God Bless you!

  • @downtoawhisper

I concur. It's obvious to me most of his lyrics come from the Bible.

  • All these comments are amazing, theyre so real. it really makes me happy

  • My favourite song.

  • I want to marry this song...

  • bravo....BRAVO

  • i have never heard of thrice. i saw this song on itunes. i listened to it. and now im obsessed with them. THEY ARE THE BEST!

  • @spalooch45 you have no idea what you've been missing my friend. KUDOS!!

  • @spalooch45

    t'was a glorious day huh?

  • @diydanae420 indeed

  • i have no words to describe the way these words cut through me and everything in my life . No words for this, none

  • Thrice, you speak to me on so many levels. Your musicianship and lyrical content fills my consciousness with hope. I could never fully express what this band means to me.

  • great

  • just keep on hitting repeat.

  • greatest song ive heard in a while. shows how letting go of trying to be perfect by following the ways of the bible saved him from himself

  • Le sigh...

  • this is amazing and all but.. it sucks that everyone uploaded their stuff..

they make less and the less they make the less they make! i want to see dustin direct again.

  • @97Skj, my take is about what he says at the end, "I felt black and white reverse and a lifting of a curse in his heart. Like one whose given sight, I beheld a blinding light in the dark."

He also says lines about not having a reason to live, which I think this is a song about his salvation, or maybe just someone's. Just my opinion.

  • Most underrated band... THIS MUST BE HEARD BY THE WORLD!

  • @Omgitsdayton truthtruthtruthtruthtruth

  • @Levelermakelevel WE MUST ALL PREACH THE WORD OF THRICE

  • Fucking brilliant music, album of the year.

  • Can someone explain the lyrics to me? I dont quite get the meaning of this amazing song... thanks!!

  • @97sjk The bible demands perfection, which we can't be. Someone actually came and removed the weight of those demands from Dustin and there you have it. Like StyvenHasPower said... it's basically the gospel. Dustin just presents it in a beautiful way time and time again.

  • There aren't many songs that make me cry when I listen to them. This one does. So incredibly beautiful and moving. One of their best.

  • <3333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333

  • what's that sound at the beginning/end? its something played backwards, might be an easteregg or something...?

  • @pkhld

its a guitar layer played backwards ;)

  • Thrice needs to win a Best Band of the Universe award cause they push the envelope with each album. Thrice FTW!

  • so excited i cant contain myself

  • @Lawmaker87

    You mean like, compose yourself?

  • Just a beautifull piece of music.

  • Ahhhh i really want a CD rip of this song. The vynl ones have bad quality but i need to listen to it XD

  • I picture this song playing as the first sentient being beholds the end (or the beggining of the universe) and all its secrets are revealed to them. They see the big bang, they see the genesis and death of stars, they see the rise of the anamoly known as life, grow through evolution, they see human beings slowly build up their civilizations and they weep at the beauty and the overwhelming sense of completeness at finally understanding.

  • Dude you gotta take these leaks down... They're even releasing a track from each day from now on to the album comes out anyway, this basically just ruins the whole system they had worked out for the releasing of this album.. If you appreciate it, you should take them down

  • @cameronbob92 Its not really a leak. They released a vynl copy and people just ripped the vynl onto youtube. Everyone is still going to buy it cause the quality of this is crap.

  • Can't wait for my shipment. God, it's amazing. The rest of the album will remain a mistery until I get a copy of my own.

  • Best song they've ever written hands down. This song makes me cry. Best on Major/Minor.

  • @DavidAMIs same here man, I love it.

  • @DavidAMIs Its hard to say best, cuz' they are all so amazing, but I know what you mean.

  • @DavidAMIs

Agreed, probably my favourite song of all time.

  • @DavidAMIs absolutely, this song gives me chills.

  • This is beautiful.

    The lyrics are astonishing!

Dustin writing about the whole process of walking in the water searching for 'the book' is just SICK!

    Thrice, I freaking love you!

  • oh i do very much like that guitar. i can't freakin wait till i see this album either sitting on the porch of my house or in the mailbox. that is gonna be a good time.

  • Probably on of my favorite thrice songs ever. Everything is spot on.

  • Anyone want to help me with the lyrics for the bridge? There are a few lines I can't figure out. lol

  • @JakeMachado And when I lost all hope to look, someone took that heavy book from my hands; all its weight they set aside, after they had satisfied its demands.

I felt white and black reverse, and the lifting of a curse from my heart.

Then like one receiving sight, I beheld a brilliant light in the dark.

  • @ysutuba Thank you, I appreciate it!

  • Best song on the album to me, or maybe tied with Anthology. Such a beautiful song.

  • sightly water disc influence? reminds me of circles...love this song.
