I ahve seen this movie on vhs on amazon for 39 dollars :-( and that does not incluse postage and packaging and i live in uk such a great christmas movie it is my first time i have seeen this movie and i love it i wish i saw it sooner :-) xxx thank you for sharing the christmas magic with all of us :-)

That owl, he reminds me of that owl Scowl from the movie Happily Ever After....another classic.

everytime i see it would hug my doll raven. holly is a cool doll and ivy is cool to but that owl that thing is so creepy evertime i see that owl it would  creep me out

I loved this so much and recorded a VHS tape back in 1992 of it from TV. I got a cat a few years later and named her Ivy after this character...Ivy was put to sleep 6 days ago. I'm grateful for this story, thank you for posting.

Dude, we all owe you one for posting THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER here! I have it more than one time on tape, but what´s the use of it if you don´t have a functionating (or is it "functionable" ? I´m from Germany, so my english skills aren´t perfect at all... ^^;) VCR? :-(

...and speaking of questions: WHY IN THE NAME OF MIKE ISN´T THIS MOVIE AVAILABLE ON DVD YET?!?!? I bet we who found it here won´t be the only ones who´d buy it!!!! >:-(

The book this is based on, The Story Of Holly And Ivy, was one of my most favorite books as a kid--I couldn't say how many times I read it. I had NO idea until just a few minutes ago while reading the Wikipedia article for the book, that it had been adapted into a TV special. It may have been because they changed the title, so I just didn't make the connection.
