Akio is definitely in my top 10 guitarrists, in the fine company of the next gentlemen: John Sykes, Ritchie Blackmore, George Lynch, Rik Emmett, Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker, Gary Moore & Randy Rhoads. In not specific order.
Shit....hes one of the best guitarists Ive heard or seen in years. He rivals the best the states have to offer..up there with EVH, Lynch etc.....for rock/metal. He's about as good as they get!
Holy f*ckin' sh*t! Akio rules! These 3 demonstrations you posted just serve to prove how skilled and versatile this guy is... Definitelly one of my favorite guitar players ever!
I only wish more people would recognize Akio's skills, forget about the fact that tyhe guy is japanese and just pay attention to his amazing guitar playing.
@JunyaYashiki Nothing man, but unfortunatelly japanese musicians are very underrated around the world... Mots people consider japanese musicians as very technical musicians without any feeling, and I believe Akio proves that that's bullshit.
That's what I meant... Just check my channel, I'm a fan of japanese music, sorry if I didn't express myself very clearly.
@TaijiSawadaFan ah right ok I see where your coming from now! :P I thought you were saying something like "He's an amzing player!... too bad he's japanese" lol
@JunyaYashiki And I don't blame you for thinking that, since it's what most people would say, sadly... Anyway, take a look around my videos, there are some other awesome japanese stuff around! Hope you enjoy it! =D
@TaijiSawadaFan Take into consideration that most of the ill placed comments as as per Japanese musicians being mostly technical with no feeling generally come from xenophobic blues based musicians who have this silly idea that only their music contains soul. To them, if its beyond I IV V, its too much for them to wrap their head around, therefore automatically lacking in 'feeling'. Those people take pride in being musically stilted. I have to hear it from my neighbor every time I play Anthem.
@ShivaTheAuspicious I think I might have shared a similar experience like you, when I moved to my sister's. My brother-in-law, a "metalhead" (or so he calls himself) was once passing by me while I was watching one of those instrumental videos of Akio's. All he couls say was a stupid critique that he picks too slowly and he isn't too much intense. Like the first would even matter (as long as the guitarist kicks ass!), and the latter is simply false.
@ShivaTheAuspicious (continuation) He tells me how Metallica rules and how good their recent albums are, and how awesome their Some Kind of Monster DVD is... I mean how ironic is that, their later albums have the worst reviews a metal band could ever get, and besides, their aforementioned DVD is nothing but how dumb they can ever be. He also told me alot how he likes Slipknot and Papa Roach (is he seriously implying that he is a metalhead lol...). But anyway, leaving that aside
@1bol1 Er no? As I said, they are impotent of driving any new interesting content, and their songs are mostly like what copy-paste is in the computer world lol (it was like this in their older days too -- I really wonder wonder how those people got to popularity in the first place -- no, it's not about talent, if you want talent, look at Anthem and other underrated bands that don't get any attention) Not to mention incapable of getting smarter than the monkey level they are at the moment.
@kureyonalliance wtf you know nothing you're an idiot. i would like too see your ass at the stage playing YOUR songs infront of 1000000+ like they did in russia
@1bol1 Techincally you're the idiot here reacting like a chimpanzee fufufufu XD
You don't have to see me perform on a live stage, you've got to see Anthem do that, since I was talking about them, not in any case about me. They would outperform Metallica from the first minute they play XD
It's worthless to talk to a Metallica monkey like you, since you will never see the light, and the fairly "in the face" issues Metallica have. It's not a true "heavy" metal band, period.
metallica is one of the most influential thrash metal band ever.
I like japanese metal but people like you ruins everything, people like you who're one of those wapanese who say every thing from japan is the best, or you're just stupid and don't know shit about Metal. And no, metallica aren't a ''Heavy'' metal, they are a THRASH metal band, it's a big difference.
@1bol1 "the most influential thrash metal band" I wonder from where you did copy pasta to that, since I've heard that despicable lie thousands of times lol
But it is true, they are quite influential for the sheer low quality metal bands those days perform, and how bitchy they are.
"one of those wapanese", "you're just stupid and don't know shit about Metal" -> I'm sorry but I fail to see why you would take those conclusions without knowing me personally, neither of them is the case.
@1bol1 It would be irrelevant me to hate Metallica and be either a wapanese or a unacknowledged with metal. To tell you the truth, I prefer japanese performers because they can be much more original and creative than the westerners, but that doesn't make me a wapanese, since I still like some things from the west *PERIOD*
"And no, metallica aren't a ''Heavy'' metal *period* " - Up to that point you are right, they are lower than any other band that fits that genre.Pussymetal would be perfect XD
@kureyonalliance dude wtf they are a THRASH metal band, how could they be lower than other heavy metal bands if they are not in the genre. and you are hopeless. if you don't like metallica then fine, but you can't deny that they are one of the best PERIOD
@1bol1 I'm sorry to say, but I think I should rather think you're the hopeless one, your closed mind, primitive tastes, and not to mention the fact that you care what I say, are far more pitiful.
"but you can't deny that they are one of the best"
I bloody well can, it's my freedom of speech, dumbass. See me do it! XD
@ShivaTheAuspicious We were talking about how blind some people (especially from the western world) are so blind in terms of music, that they cannot see a masterpiece, not even if it is in their faces and that is mostly the fault of how biased their thinking is. Nevertheless, we should all prove how wrong those people are and try to at least open their horizon ^^
