Hey guys, you don;t have to take everything apart to change the screen, I just finished changing one right now and all I did was to open the back and replace it..Just be careful when you are doing it....Best of luck

hey, thanks for the video, but I agree with some of the other posts, I am not sure you need to break down the computer. Couldn't you just pull the backplate off and unplug the video strip connection and unscrew the 4 screws.. and off... I'll let you know, but other than this, its a great break down video (for other issue or parts that need replacment.
@garybiz1 I was following the HP service manual and if you think you can just pull the screen assembly a part like other models that is not the case here. Notice there is clear plastic covering the ENTIRE screen which is very different than other models.
hey i have a gateway laptop its pretty new it has 3gb of ram a 320 gb harddrive and an amd processor and the right sides back light keeps shuting off how much would that cost to fix
@flash1993d The display assembly is not designed to be removed so easily. It is more work but worth it when you get through the job with no broken plastic.
It's more of an advertisement for my services than a "how to" type video but I agree more notes would help. I did promise the customer that I'd post this video. The green stick is called a case cracking tool. The tool I use came from a Zune repair kit. You could use a guitar pick instead if you like. No body has ever said I look like Silent Bob but I have been told I look like Jesus and some guy from The Beatles before. How could you tell my face isn't really visible lol. Thanks for watching!

I change these screen all the time and dont need to go to all that work. 20 minutes max to do this job.
