Oh I loved this. It was my brother's and I used to play it all the time. One time my sister managed to free all the other sorcerers but then fell in the lake and drowned at the last minute. We pissed ourselves laughing.
probably the first game i "played" there is no way i could have completed it, i was not even getting what i had to do ^^ (i did not speak english back then, and was about 5yo ^^)
Hi Axelino, thanks for putting this online. Great to see this after... hm, 25 years I think. Played this for hours on our Schneider CPC664 (with monochrome monitor!), and I can see why, it still excites me in a way (that's the memory I suppose). Do you have a version with the haunting startup tune?
The first time I saw Sorcery's graphics on my CPC, my jaw just dropped, absolutely gorgeous... and this was also the game to shut my C64 mates up who said that the Amstrad's graphics chip was crap.
It is playable and you can complete it without cheating (in contrast to Cauldron 1 which was excellent too but to complete it you need infinite hags).
Brings back great memories. And what a ground breaking game - one of the many titles that persuaded me to enter the computer games business (and I'm still in it, somehow.)
i was 7 years old and i played this the whole day, i loved it. You cant forget this game like some other games. This game and Bruce Lee was awesome, i had only a green monitor but it looked nice. wasnt there a game called pupilz or something like that, it was basically a complete house and you can give the small computer people comandos, like use shower? greets from germany.
thats right - i remember that - and it took like 10 minutes to load the game from tape - and if there was a single crease in the tape it was ruined - remember read error a and b?
This is the best game EVER!!!

I didn't expect a "long play" to fit into an eight and a half minute video! Beautiful graphics by CPC standards.

One of the best games of all times on Amstrad.
Graphics, sound, gameplay... all are excellent.

I remember playing this on the MSX, atmospheric despite the crude graphics. I received a map once in a magazine, which really helped. :¬D

I remember the "flashloading" of the amstrad tape... A nightmare to copy, lol, but a very nice intro.

Yes ! But in Sorcery, any error would make a reset

Great video. Could anybody help me with a walkthrough of the Commodore 64 version of Sorcery? It's got a much different layout than this version.
