  • Wrong bro

  • heee that sounds great........thank you for sharring

  • It sounds nice, and the style is correct, but he jumps a little bit early on the IV chord if he is trying to play Georgia. This sounds more like Delaware

  • just saying that this is wrong. John plays an open d string after the open g, then moves up to the 4th fret on the d string and the 5th on the a string. Apart from that it's correct. Just a heads up :)

  • @TheDguitarman no shit, if he played the actual song there would be copyright issues and the video might get removed...hes just teaching technique

  • Nice one! We even learn how to play "the bottom of the sea"- chord at 1:13

    XD

  • Its half good. I thought I was slick and had it but it was still not quite right. IMO I think this guy with asparagus fingers has it right... watch?v=P9HsJ2MaFDc&feature=related.

The most important part of the lesson is getting the fingers to sync the right way rather than just clawing notes like in regular fingerstyle.

  • wrong

  • just look at that rosewood fignerboard!!! its so beutiful! :)

  • I'VE LEARNT NOTHING MAKE A PROPER FUCKING TUTORIAL

  • @MrChenze101 you have to buy them sadly.

  • goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood teacher :(

  • do you have ears? youre missing the major seventh which makes this lick so spicy

  • @TommyDai1 go troll somewhere else

  • Easy!

  • yah youre def playing it WRONG

  • slow down you fucking dumb ass

  • That appears to be more of a credit to Dan Fogleberg style which Jonh Mayer adopted somewhat.

  • I have all the notes down and can play it once but I have trouble getting back to the base note. Now even though I am not a big fan of John Mayer (except for the guitar parts) I have to give him props for being able to play this AND sing at the same time. That's what I call Multi-tasking!

  • Would like a tab of this lol but I learnt it almost perfectly without, with a bit of time on my hands :) :) will not ever stop playing it I love it

  • thanks buddy

  • Just discovered your lessons. They are fantastic! Thanks for helping me enhance my skill set.

  • this is wrong

  • Not a good lesson compared with your others, why "in the style of john mayer" why not do it correctly

  • he must be tone def.

  • best lick of this lessons:)

  • John Mayer doesn't play the C. The riff goes directly to D.

  • Wow! I wonder how many videos lessons all these "expert" critics have on the market? It takes far less effort or skill to run your mouth condemning someone for a work than it does to actually create a work. That is probably why critics always outnumber artists.

  • @wvgman there must be a lot of guitarplayers among the critics then cause this is very wrong. i know its in the style of jm but still if people think it sounds wrong it means they got ear for this stuff :)

  • @Rawfall Their ear must be off because that was perfectly in time.

  • @RyanHaig no

  • @Rawfall well i have never heard the song he is covering but it sounds like the timing is right and i don't hear any notes or chords that collash but if you're implying it isn't exactly as jm played it then maybe you're right

  • Stupid dumb ass

  • that sounds funny with the C

  • The C chord is wrong in this piece. John doesn't play that. Instead of the C chord he picks the D note on the A string and the F# string together and then the G sting open. John then ends with the last part you play.

  • Aw come on man, u suck ..

    At least play it right

  • haha u dont even play it right

  • Dude you dont play it right:)

  • @hrasmohrana its not the same song idiot

  • Excuse me sir, What kind of guitar strings does he have?

  • this is why i learned guitar on my own...

  • wrong.

  • @NickyBoyl33t77 it's okay, he'd get sued if he copied the riff since he's legit and stuff

  • Use your danm thumb to play that bass G note. Only pussies use other fingers. Lol

  • its pretty off. That, and its why georgia, not 'why not georgia'

  • @sk8er0mega it's supposed to be off, he named it differently cause he played it differently

  • that's just wrong, after G there is D ( x54030)

  • WRONG!

  • Can everyone stop dogging the dude about how he "played it wrong"!? Have any of you seen " This Will All Make Perfect Sense Someday"? His friend John played it like that right in front of Mayer himself, and he didn't give a flying fuck. So why should you ?

  • no c chord bro straight to the D

  • Comment removed

  • hahahaha nope.

  • your playing it wrong

  • you're playing it wrong.

  • not it.

  • I love Why Georgia but, You're playing it wrong. After he does the G he goes over to a c chape chord but move it over two frets (the second chord you did)

  • Sean is right. This guy is playing it wrong. The 2nd chord isn't a Cmaj7.

  • that's why he says "its in the style of john mayer". He's not tabbing the song, just teaching a technique.

  • @12MonkeyArmy no offense meant to you, but this isnt mayer's technique. this guy uses first finger to hit 6th and 5th strings while john mayer uses his thumb. I mean i get that it's for the sake of convenience, but this guy is more developing his own technique than teaching mayer's. . .

  • @celuliteisgood you may well be right, but that's not my point. I was trying to point out to people who are saying that it's "Wrong" that it was never intended to be a tab for the song. So the fact that he goes to C instead of D (or whatever the case) is irrelevant. But yes that Rhythmic slap of the thumb is key to getting "Why Georgia" right.
