Dave is one of metals finest drummers. I'm not Dragonforce's biggest fan, but the sort of shit Dave pulls off is amazing. I've seen him first hand, and his double bass work is up there with Lombardo. Fucking amazing!!

hes good, no denying that. I think his fills are INCREDIBLY repetitive (judging from Inhuman Rampage) yet he plays really tight double bass which is tought at the tempos he plays at. Check out George Kollias man, he will blow your mind!

Yep, but he has to play to the music his band plays. The fills work with the music. Unfortunately, thats my one problem with Dragonforce (i.e a lot of their songs are very similar), but as far as putting a drum track down for the songs, I dont know what other fills would work at that pace?? I know that Dave is a huge Neil Peart fan, and were he to be playing Hemispheres, he would apply suitable fills.

A trigger is something you hook onto the drum and then there's a thing that touches your beater head.

This really isnt a fair comparison, just because the style of music is SOOO different.

Dave plays for a band that requires a constant beat with little variation, or else it would screw herman and sam up.

Joey plays for a a group that varies style from song to song, changing tempo and beats.

However, i feel that Dave is way too set in his beats and doesnt bring anything new to the table from song to song.

Joey however changes almost every song. Maybe Dave is just as fast but not as good.

Joey Jordison? yes they both are fast, but its harder for dave to put other fills because the tempo is faster. its harder to do (for example) 16th note fills when your tempo goes1-2-3-4 than 1...2...3...4... either way their both good.

As for portnoy he can put many stuff in because whats commonly changing in dream theater is time signature and the tempo doesn't go as fast as dragon force.
