All sin, no matter how “small,” is against an infinite and eternal God, and is therefore worthy of an infinite and eternal penalty. Further, there is no sin too “big” that God cannot forgive it. Jesus died to pay the penalty for sin (1 John 2:2). Jesus died for all of our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21). Are all sins equal to God? Yes and no. In severity? No. In penalty? Yes. In forgivability? Yes.
So I think it would be safe to say it is hard to "measurie" sin, we all sin, no matter who we are. There are degrees to sin. Some sins are worse than others. At the same time, in regard to both eternal consequences and salvation, all sins are the same. Every sin will lead to eternal condemnation (Romans 6:23).
"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction." We are to "judge" sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences—the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
This is not judging, but rather pointing out the truth in hope—and with the ultimate goal—of bringing repentance in the other person (James 5:20) and restoration to the fellowship. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We are to proclaim what God's Word says about sin. 2 Timothy 4:2 instructs us,
In Matthew 7:2-5, Jesus warns against judging someone else for his sin when you yourself are sinning even worse. That is the kind of judging Jesus commanded us not to do. If a believer sees another believer sinning, it is his Christian duty to lovingly and respectfully confront the person with his sin (Matthew 18:15-17).
I don't want to debate on who here is holier than the who or who know knows more bible verses than others. All I know is that I love God and this music touched my husband's heart and brought him to know the Lord. With that being said, please note the following.
What gangster signs? God wants to reach out to ALL, not just some. Even though it may not reach some people, doesn't mean it won't reach others. Stop judging, God has that role.
You actually think God is using him??? Have you not studied the Word of God??? God does not back this up. The world is not supposed to change the church...its the church that changes the world! Let go of your old ways!
@raidr912 its not really confusing. its just the group or crew he reps. it aint like he throwin up signs 2 murder sum1 or 2 do something that is wrong or disrespectful. thats just how it is on the streets but as long he is proclamin Jesus name and tryin 2 reach the people in a positive way then its cool. its the mindset of the people n how they take it is what causes problems in that. so its all gud.
Judging someone for breaking out of a life of drugs and violence and trying his best to lead people to Jesus. I think its time we take a look at ourselves before sitting here and judging someone for talking good and reppin' the Lord.
Hate to single you out but those were the emotions expierenced, and cause of G Craige Lewis I haven't listened to hip hop in a couple of weeks now, so not to get cocky but i'm in tune to what I feel go into my body/soul, specially with the self imposed 'omerta in reverse'...and beore that, I was a pick up phones before they ring type of person, and when I go to the hood, i'm blessed god keeps the light on so I don't have to bug...no one who bugs becomes a big tool or god, they jus be buggin...
in my old life i'd have said some things to a darken beat, but don't you feel like the real get saved music iz when you speak to the kidz, and they respond? I know this song with 1500 hits aint have the same impact as u talkin to those kids, music never gets one saved, it gets one phazed...just like that what you preach against, as decent as the song wuz, it made me not wanna graze, i wanted something shot up in any deserving dome like some haze, sit em down by callin out itz craze...

Romans 14, y'all. Read it, pray about what it's saying, even though it's pretty straightforward.

2. GANG sign? So I can use my hands to say peace or give a thumbs up or an A-ok. Anything else is automatically "gang" based huh?
