@vorn29 I have travelled on both. they run bendys in cardiff and I spent time working in London in the late '90s and regularly used the RMs. My opinion is nothing to do with Boris; I will admit to being biased in the RMs favour as someone who is "into" old buses and trucks, but I felt it was wrong to get rid of the RMs when they first started doing it long before Boris got in. I think its just as big a waste of money to introduce a "new" routemaster. The solution IMO was to keep the originals

This bus is a step forward in design and will inspire other bus designers, it's very different to the current boxy looking things we have at the moment.
Great design!! 40% greater fuel efficiency and emissions is 100% better than nothing. But lest we forget. Bringing back Trolleybuses potentially reduces emissions by 100%. Achievment dependent on where you generate the electricity. Think of all the noise pollution eliminated too!
some of the images of the bus in this video seem to have different front profiles, I like the photo of in Oxford Street at 2:45 wher the bus looks more like a Blackpool Ballon Tram - but then I like Blackpool trams aswell

Very smart!!! I like the idea of having TWO sets of stairs complete with windows. At least you'll have a view when you're stuck on the stairs when you're trying to get off from the upper deck when in Central London!!!
Don't like the design, pathetic attempt to blend old nostalgic designs with new, modern ones. More important things to spend money on other than these terrible designs.
I don't like it, it looks like a bad blend of modern and retro design themes. Now I do like the idea of reviving old designs like the mini cooper, ford mustang etc but this is will not digest well.

But, as the lady says at the end: colossal waste of money. It wont actually improve passenger flows through the capital. It is just an expensive nostalgic token that conservatives will enjoy seeing from the windows of their jaguars.
