  • KIND OF KIND OF KIND OF

  • I liked him playing through the Vox AC-100 amps!!!

These things gave him tinnitus I bet!!

  • Damn he has tinnitus and still does the damn thing! WOW. I believe I was recently suffering from this coming off of a super painful tooth infection that I believe spread to an ear infection. I have played guitar forever but all of a sudden I couldn't take ANY treble. I could handle a little but not much at all, its like I heard the treble registers 4 million times more sensitive than normal, loud was out of the question but treble was the real enemy, I am getting better now but still sucks.

  • Fender now makes Jeff Beck replica fingers in Thailand. Apparently they're modeled on his pre-Yardbirds era, and are randomly included in Squire products as a guerilla marketing tactic.

  • You'd have to steal Jeff's fingers!!! THAT"S where the tone is!

  • Saw him today and he played 2 marshalls

  • looked exactly like a JTM45 when I saw him last night

  • Actually live he uses a Fender Pro Jr, not a Champ. I believe he uses a Champ in the studio though, an old tweed one.

  • Nobody can sound like Jeff beck or another guitar player because NOBODY HAVE HIS FINGERS!!

  • @Aldo8474 i do. He is not pleased.

  • I love how Jeff uses like 2 tiny Fender champs live, and just plays them through the PA. You really don't need a huge stack of amps to have a killer sound.

  • I saw him in Montreal 6th row this past summer and took many picture of his pedals, still got the pictures on my camera never checked them out...got busy! I saw him just last week, obviously blown away and was curious how he gets his sound. I'll check those pics out and post.

  • pete townsend's tech the guy at the left at 0:26 hahahahahaha loop that part couple of times

  • @josipml5

    Mep!

  • One of jeff's drummers hammered a cymbal and jeff was right there, bummer. guess townsend has it too after those years with keith moon no surprise.

  • @searunrd1 It was actually the drummer for Guns N' Roses that caused his tinnitus. He was rehearsing with them and their drummer caused it.

  • I saw JB back in '95 in a 8k seat ampitheatre opening for Santana and all he had were two old Plexi Marshall half-stacks and about four pedals.

I thought that's what he always used.

  • OK you guys.. First of all i love JB, and totally agree that most of his sound comes from his fingers... BUT.. I swa him just recently in perth Aust.. He had a lrage pedal board in front of him that he didnt use much...

I was up in the stalls.. after the show as i left, I could actually look down and see what he had BEHIND his rig.. it was huge..What was going on there?

    Loved the show anyways..

  • to get his sound...he wont change them tho in show often

  • DS-L's HA HA thats funny tis ds-1

(if there is a ds-L tell me please)

  • He's talking about the Marshall DSL50 heads JB was using at the time.

  • No, it's DSL (Dual Super Lead) DS-1 is a distortion pedal

  • Jeff is using the Klon distortion pedal. I don't think he ever used a Boss DS-1 that I can recall.

  • i thought he used a Rat

  • I think he did use a Rat at one time. I don't know when the Rat got yanked from his set up.

  • @thebibleisalltrue thought he used a snarling dog....

  • @das728 He did on the "You Had it Coming" record. I think he used the Snarling Dog on the record after that too. He used a Rat for years before that.

  • I'm starting to get it, and I actually find it kind of soothing. Lots of people have it, essentially anybody who's been playing since ~1990. Paul Gilbert to Al Di Meola: It's why Meola stopped ripping like he used to on Elegant Gypsy, to stop trashing his hearing.

  • Outstanding! Thanx 4 this.

  • i think the guy on the left is a numismatist

:-D he grades pocket change at 0:30

  • The guy on the left is Alan Rogan. Pete Townsend's guitar tech. Also has worked for the Stones, AC/DC, Joe Walsh ++++ Yeah, he has plenty of pocket change and a few cool guitars.

  • Most people keep a JTM45's bass eq from 0-2. Its a different animal...your gonna need more bass eq for an amp like most fenders.

  • I could her him talk about jeff's set up for hours Jeff is a true guitar god !

  • @philzyqotsa ha ha exactly

  • @philzyqotsa yeah he is:P

but its almost impossible to achieve his tone, even if i would get up on stage during one of his shows, grab his guitar and play one of his songs, it wouldnt sound the same, because i dont have the amazing controll over my guitar that he has:P

  • I wanna see the Ronny Scott show!

  • that would be great if somebody shot a video!!!

  • A DVD of the Ronnie Scott show will be released in December. The CD is already out.

  • It's without a doubt one of the BEST performances by ANYONE.
