BERLIN (Reuters) – A German court has ordered former Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore to pay damages after ruling the guitar solo in his 1990 hit "Still Got the Blues" had been plagiarized from a German song written in 1974.
A court in the southern city of Munich said on Wednesday the solo in Moore's song was too similar to the one in "Nordrach" by the band Jud's Gallery not to have been copied
@Dkiller707 Actually, this was a great song from Grand Slam (the band Philo fronted after Lizzy, in 1984). It was completely wrote by Phil, and if you compare it to Soldier of Fortune, from Lizzy's Bad Reputation, you'll see that some parts are pretty much the same. Military Man is kinda Soldier of Fortune on steroids. Gary only had to put a little more power to the song. Anyway, this is one of my all time favorites. Rock in peace Gary and Phil.
I miss you Gary, what an absolutely brilliant musician you were!

"i'm fighting from this war, but I don't know what I'm fighting for...." very appropriate don't you think? Iraq and Afghanistan
nokiaman2002 1 year ago
@nokiaman2002 It is a Phil Lynott song, both lyrics and music, I think maybee he is singing about himself, he had a war on his own..

@MrLynottrocker its actually a song that Gary and Phil collaborated on, and im fairly sure, but not completely, that it was on a Gary Moore album.
