I have played the fist SupCom and i thougt it was very anoying to upgrade all the buildings to tech 2 and 3 so the idea is great! But If you add anti air on a tank and add more firepower people will just spam units it will be no strategy. My point is that it wont be soft or hardcounters any more!

I never played 1 cuz I didn't have a good computer at the time. But I really like 2. The massive scale makes it more fun than other RTS games. I'm tempted to buy 1 and try it though.

I've played both to death - all they need to do is incorporate the good points from the first into the second through an expansion pack or several updates. I actually prefer the research spec tree over the tech upgrades. The only real problem I'm finding with SupComd2 is the AI, but hey comp stomps are sooo yesterday anyway...

The first one may have been better - but the way they distributed the trees and made games last longer created new strategies that make the game more enjoyable as a whole. If you think the new game sucks then go back to Starcraft and zergling rush or C&C and just sit airstrikes. That's all Gunship Zerging was. Now that it's not as relevant people want to cry about how much the game sucks. SORRY THAT EZMODE WAS TAKEN FROM YOU. Deal with it.

I was right 1 year it was released, its a consolified game for people who cant manage an ECO.

All those people who say "oh the first took too long to get going" that roughly translates to "Im too thick to manage and ECO and send units into combat"

Such a promising game turned into a console sell out.

I just got this game and I am really impressed by it. The graphics and action sequences are so BEAUTIFUL and intense it makes me want to keep the enemy alive so he can build up his units and i can build mine up for a godly clash of armies. Although you can micromanage, this game is definitely meant for huge epic battles... you can zoom all the way out to see pretty much the entire map and your armies will be displayed as circles and squares with the number of units in that area. Damn good game

Just tried the demo from Stream. "Worthless trash" would not say half of it. This game is a joke, they have dumbed the great SC down to a console arcade game for 6 years olds. The guy talking about super 3D and advanced engine is a liar, you have camera angles limited to red alert level and the whole thing just looks trashy and childish. There is NO SUPREME COMMANDER 2, the great game only had one part.

With supcom2, i played the demo, it feels like command and conquer, which imo is nooby, someone agrees with me, try out Heart of iron 3, a great game for those who are not 12 year olds looking for some fancy graphics

Well i think you don t know anything about supreme commander the first. The first supreme commander was mutch more bigger the the second (with the world and the dimension). Cause of that, it took laggs. You know what i mean, the atmosphere of the second supreme commander is really NOT the same. If you don t see that... i don t know

The problem with Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, and Supreme Commander 2 is that they seem to be designed by engineers. There are lots of technically impressive features, like continuous zoom, and massive armies, but unfortunately the gameplay just doesn't come together. There are just too many unit types, their roles are not differentiated enough, and the combat ends up just being a bunch of specks fighting other tiny specks. The battles end up being pretty boring after a few games.

-If you have ACU as a battleMech, you are not following the principles of the most valuable piece of equipment in the field.

They talk about streamlining, making everything look better, but what they are doing, is dulling the edge.

Similar games includes the C&C series, Fallout 3, Gothic series to Risen...etc. Many games have had great origins, but follow-ups have utterly ruined them.

I know exactly what you're talking about about the dumb games for dumb players part, i have actually come across quite a decent game from a indie developer called Braid, think mario+Prince of persia, the story is one of the most interesting things ive actually seen in the most recent years, i wont spoil it, but everything isnt as it seems. read the books

I've been a RL for 3 different hardcore raiding guilds and legions across 4 different MMO's. If you have no idea what I am talking about you are a noob. You're right it does have zero to do with those great games mentioned. What it DOES have in common with several responses here is that players are being written off as 'dumb' (stereotyped) because they enjoy a simple game. Seriously, games like this are refreshing. IMO If you play this game for what it is you will love it. If you are a SC1 fanboy, go play SC1. This is a great old school style RTS. Remember Dune 2 - that was a simple game, but we all love it.
