I was in my early teens when most of there showed. Im 33 now, and its funny how when some of the songs play I still know all the words and tunes, LMAO!
I have seen over 200 of your videos and have always wondered, how are you able to credit all the celebrities in the commercials? Are they listed somewhere else or do you just have a good eye? And thanks for the posts.
@Anarchist86ed All of the tapes these commercials are taken from are from TV shows and movies recorded off the air. The original purpose of their recording was not to preserve commercials.
WHY did I get rid of all those old VHS tapes I had?!?! I used to set my VCR to record some shows while I went to school. All that nostalgia gone to waste. I am a moron -_-
@LadieTiger I know, me too I was like 3 XD maybe the Shout company just stuck with that ad campaign for many years. I feel like they were still using that song in Shout commercials in the 2000's lol
I looked at Wikipedia to learn more about Orville Redenbacher and it says he dies in 1995. He had a heart attack in a jacuzzi at 88yrs old. I guess he couldn't take the hot water.
is it just me, or are these commercials selling the EXACT same things commercials of today are? fast food and weight loss. I guess we still need to eat unhealthy food, and then lose the weight quick.
its kinda funny how often when the commercial is for weight loss it usually involves women needing to lose weight. Thought in my eyes they didn't have to nor do they need to lose weight.
Did anyone notice how in the "Shout Power Stick" commercial, the announcer says "In tests against Spray n' Wash stick, WOMEN chose Shout, 2 to 1." Now, I'm no feminist, but... Didn't men do laundry in the 90's?
Also something you don't see much today: "starts/coming soon at a theater near you" as opposed to a universal release date everywhere; distribution back then of film was still based on reception before reaching "middle America". And most importantly, no Web addresses (the first appeared in 1994 I believe).
Notice in the Isuzu ad the absence of the typical "Professional driver on a closed course. Do not attempt" fine print you see in every car commercial today.
Do not attempt what? Driving the car I just bought?
@RoyalHustler09 They still have them. I'll admit that commercials aren't like they used to be but some are just the same as the 90's and early 2000's.
My mom did too! I would offer to take it to the kitchen and also sip whatever was left. I was a weird kid. The chocolate was very good but sometimes my mom would use whipped cream or whipped topping as well so it was like a milkshake, haha. But yes, they definitely still sell it, I saw a display of all types of SlimFast products in Walmart the other day.
I think I tasted it too, the chocolate one, my mom told me it was a "canned milkshake" it was good, but it gave you horrible, nightmarish stomach problems and headaches...
