  • the girl who plays lily is gorgeous, and i love sigourney weaver! excellent actresses to play these roles. this is quickly making it's way to being my favorite movie!

  • So, the baby was alive, couse I think I hear a crying...?????!!!

  • You did feel sympathy for the stepmother here. All she did was ask Lily to wear the dress she bought her. Instead Lily wore her mother's dress on purpose to mess with the stepmother. Ir's one thing to not like a person, but it's another to purposely take digs at them.

  • @knbri

yes but u'll c why later not of that matters. the stepmothers a bitch all the same after what she does throughout the entire movie. not only is she a pshco but...i don't know.

  • @knbri that's not true she didn't buy the dress it was a dress she wore as a child and lily didn't want to wear it because she thought it was a childish dress and she was to old for it. that's wy she didn't wore the dress

  • I love how awesome this movie is! Snow White and the Evil Queen are so complicated

  • 05:15'te başlayan şarkının adını bilen var mı ya hu??

    05:15 song name??

  • I don't think they made the stepmother a sympathetic character at all, in fact all the foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie points to a much darker character. It took jealousy over Lily's relationship with her father for her truer nature to shine through. It was only a matter of time before composure fell away to more devious intent because underneath she was vain and envious.

  • Siggy is such a fantastic actress, and she looks lovely in this movie. Lil is of course, just beautiful.

  • I understand how everyone thinks the stepmother is great, but then there is the matter of the last scene, where her "wardrobe" or whatever it is murdered the maid... and her conniving expressions at the girl the entire movie long... she is a very convincing villainous. And don't get me wrong. I LOVE Sigourney Weaver. She is the perfect antagonist of this plot, and the perfect protagonist of several movies. She is one of the best actresses I've ever known! Much love!

  • @steeltitan04 AND I agree about Snow White being a stuck-up B* in this movie. The Realism. It's where it's at. :)

  • Thank you for posting it is greatly appreciated.

  • This is awesome! it has a ''Hallmark films'' feel to it. Apparently Kristen Stewart is going to star in a new ''Snow White'', it really looks interesting.

  • Sigourney Weaver really did give an outstanding, Oscar worthy performance in this film.

  • 7:51 WAS THAT HER BABY THAT THEY JUST THREW IN THE FIRE?! o_o

  • @kaylinheartschu93

Yes. Back then they thought it dangerous to keep the baby's body intact, because an evil spirit could possess it. So they burned the corpse.

  • @kaylinheartschu93 i think so :-SS well they burned the old nanny as well :-(

  • why was she so upset when she looked in the mirror? all women dont look so good right after they give birth :/

  • It wasn't Lilli wearing the dress that made her so upset, it was everyone, especially her father, paying attention to her instead. She was jealous and couldn't stand being in second place, nothing more. She was always cold, but losing her child made her bitter and Lilli was a constant reminder of what she herself could never have. THAT is what made her so evil.

  • @queenb1793 I think it had more to do with the fact that he mentioned how much Lilli looked like her mother. It brought her stress to know that the man she loves still has fresh and fond memories of his former wife. As we all know stress and childbirth do not mix and that's what caused the baby to be stillborn. She blamed Lilli for the loss of her child and stealing the attention from her husband.

Much more complex than the original beauty jealousy, eh?

  • I think that the queen WAS a nice person in the beginning but she went crazy due to the lack of affection of her husband, the spoilt behavior of her step daughter who she was TRYING to be nice to, her husband loved his dead wife BY FAR more than Claudia though she tried her best to please him, and her loss of her baby :/ I felt sad for her more than I felt bad for snow white!

  • when she wore her Mom's gown, it breaks her step mom's heart, she is a bit mean doing that! I wont blame the mother for being evil in the end!

  • Lilly is so damn beautiful... but such a little bitch! The stepmother was so kind to her since the beginning, and she just went treating her stepmom bad and bad and trying to put her down and compete against her all the time... sometimes a person can't stand anymore, and guess that's why the stepmother became so damn evil...

The loss of her baby was Lilly's fault!

  • ok, everybody here is a WITNESS that Snow White was the bitch here! She had it coming!

  • god lily needs to get over her mother. she's been dead. stop being selfish and think about your father for a sec and how he might need some company, not worshiping his dead wife. claudia is evil? who made her evil in the first place

  • i think chistan rissa (misspelled i think) would made a better snow white. her skin is pale.

  • Comment removed

  • unrelated and unnecessary but who thinks katy perry would make a great snow white

  • birthing scene was so horrid! and throwing a baby into a fire? how barbaric!!!!!!

  • @MsYuna97 what do you expect to do with a corpse? Make it as a souvenir?

  • in the entire Lili vs Claudia "who's the real victim? " discussion I choose Lord Hoffman. These two women are both vain. They both equate beauty with power. Claudia used her's to capture Hoffman's affections so that she could become a respected lady and not just some evil witch's daughter, Lili uses hers because she resembles her dead mother to steal attention from Claudia because it makes her feel as if her mother is still the first in her father's heart. He bears the brunt the damage in the end

  • There's nothing like Fetus dumplings! Wicked women in the Far East ate Fetus dumplings of still born to retain their youth well into old age! It is Truly the answer

    to staying young!

  • why did people in that time burn there stillborns? did they not bury them like we do toay?

  • @kikyosan543

I can't say for sure, but I think it had something to do with evil spirits possibly inhabiting the baby if the corpse was left alone

  • well thts what happens when your vanity comes 1st before anything else....and anthing good tht happens goes down hill as karma wld have bitten you orgaxmicly hard on the arse

  • Does anyone else think it's a bit disturbing for Lily to be trying to look like her mother for her dad? Seriously!

  • @chavamara In Psychology, it's called electra complex. It's much like Oedipus complex.

  • I have a grimm book and I think this story was closer to the more "grimm like" tale. I can understand why Lily was being a brat but at times you could tell that she was over doing it. I believe that if she would have just coped with it the stepmother would have been fine. This movie was the bomb.

  • I like that this version made the stepmother somewhat sympathetic and the heroine somewhat unlikable. It made it more interesting. The original fairy tales were horror stories, not Disney stories with birdies and cute baby animals.

  • sigourney has an amazing singing voice, absolutely breathtaking

  • @KongOpusMagnum

    She was lipsyncing

  • takes little to make a woman miscarry back then

  • whats the name of the song that she sing in this scene?????

  • after all that time she finally had a baby?!?! lol

  • lol that woman talks to herself waaay too much

  • 9 years for you to come? shou;d be 9 months

  • the step mother i think was just trying to be nice to her step daughter... if she hadnt gone and been horrible towards her maybe none of this would have happend

  • damn those people should of bury the baby not put the baby in the fire ! wth.

  • That stuff she put on her face looks like straight up crisco.

  • @ElectricShark Thank you, that's me singing. Sigourney Weaver lipsang to my voice. You can hear the whole song at my website, karenhartmusic

  • they had foundation back then?? lol

  • @laniasmith07 yes.

  • @laniasmith07 they had almost every thing back then.the problem we have now is that many things in the stores arent natural.before i never knew that people could get soap in the nature and hair styling products.....

  • claudia is evil.

  • ok if i had a step mother as nice as that then i would be greatful, BTW just saying,

  • Comment removed

  • Lilli is so annoying in this movie. wasn't snow white suppose to be kind?

  • @180missymoo i agree.since the beggining she was the one who was evil not the step mother like the way it was suppose to be.

  • Such a beautiful song she sang!

  • jealousy becomes sigourney weaver! ps... she's giving birth in the middle of the ball room!!!!

  • And a bone to pick about her singing. There is no way a woman that far along has the room in her body to have that kind of lung capacity for long notes like that!! She would be catching her breath like she had just run laps in the place!

  • @dontfencemein1979 its a movie....and its not actually that high....maybe just a little if you're alto, but then you just need more support and open your throat more, and then its not as challenging.

  • I think this is a good representation of what a birth/ miscarriage is like. So many movie writers/directors seem to do away with the blood and distress. Kudos to the accurate version.

  • @dontfencemein1979 and not over or under acted!!!! thats a plus aswell. its not sooo dramatic that its like, okay, get over it kida thing

  • She tried to be a good stepmother though and Lilli ruined it.

  • @kmaalona lilli is a brat. too spoiled. no one should be spoiled that much. they soon become the everything has to go my way people.

  • I'm with Lilli on this one.

The crow in the first scene was there when the accident happened. Also, Claudia uses the crow to cause more harm. I think either the step-mother or the mirror was involved in Lilli's mother dying, so Claudia could take her place in the future. Lilly has female intuition about it and dislikes her step-mother. She can sense something is wrong with the whole situation. I don't think she is being a brat at all.

  • A jealousy fit caused her a baby, no need to get upset over lilli wearing something that belonged to her mother especially back then girls wanted nothing more than to wear clothing, jewels, or accessories that once belonged to their mothers. She was pregnant with a boy and her husband loved her no need to be jealous of his dead wife either. After all it was her paintings that hung in the house.

  • so it was Snow White's fault then....Gah I have always liked this story bu in this i wanted to slap that little prick in her face. spoiled rotten thing. that was so wrong how she acted.

  • I can't stand Sigourney crying. It breaks my heart. :(

  • There's obviously a demon of some description in the mirror which is fed by her vanity and hatred. I think the dark magic in the mirror keeps her forever young and attractive (hence why the hormones don't effect her beauty) but lowers her fertility. Nevertheless I think Claudia had a good soul so the Mirror worked about destroying that by allowing her a child, then taking it from her. She's just hit her lowest point so now's the demon's perfect opportunity to take control.

  • sigourney weaver is awesome

  • I really felt pity for the stepmother when she saw her face in the mirror. This movie makes me so glad that I'm born in a century where there are other options for women in life than to be companions and childbearers.

  • losing a child is enough to drive any woman mad, especially after waiting so long to have one. I feel sorry for Claudia. They have a great actress playing her part =D

    That damned mirror's what's evil

  • losing a child is enough to drive any woman mad, especially after waiting so long to have one. I feel sorry for Claudia. They have a great actress playing her part =D

  • ah i love that music xD ^^

  • Comment removed

  • LOL i wonder if the dancing music was these days hot rocking?

  • naa i think she's evil at 1st coz she wldn't hv kept the weird mirror..

  • @bebedt I know why do all these people think she is nice :O

  • @Ethanride really? haha y?

  • Lily's voice is kind of annoying. It feels like there is no emotion in it whatsoever.

  • Wow, snow white is a spoiled b!tch,,,,,I sure as hell wouldn't want her as a step-child ,,,parents remarry,, that's life,,,,snow white purposely stopped the show while her step-mother was singing,,, I can never understand children who do not want their parents to remarry and have a happy life,,,,my step-dad was the best,,, Lilli wasn't like a mistress,,,then i could understand the hatred,,,no,she was just the second wife,,,poor lilli,,,,snow white sucks

  • @ealaara lilli is the name of snow white in this film

  • @chickencurry58 yet I got that after i pressed post,,, I meant Claudia,,oh well,,,in the true story of snow white,,it is Snow White's real mom that tries to kill her,,,there was no step-mom

  • @ealaara she was acting like a normal rebellious teen. Plus counsellors or therapists didn't really exist in that era so you kinda were left to deal with emotional problems on your own. Not to mention it didn't help that everyone kept praising her dead mother and making her seem like the best leaving no room for lili to accept another person in her family.

  • @Strymn Even with all the counsellors and therapists in this time,,,a spoiled little bitch is a spoiled little bitch,,,I wouldn't call it normal,,there are many teens who adjust well to a stepmom or stepdad,,,,you're right about the people,,,it is the fault of the dad and the people around plus a spoiled child who is used to getting what they want,,,,,weren't the clergy like counsellors of a sort?

  • @ealaara mmm not really, i think priests might've been close but still not all that helpful. i still think it was unfair of people around her to praise her so and were comparing her too much, but yeah a spoiled brat is responsible for her own actions.

  • Sigourney Weaver is an insanely good actress. Jealous much?

  • I find Claudia, while sympathetic, a villain. Her motivations make more sense then most adaptations like Disney's which makes her all the more fascinating. Lili's dislike of her makes sense too, given that she's replacing her mother and even rubbing it in Lili's face that she's carrying the boy her father desires which makes Lili feel unwanted.

  • I feel sorry for Claudia. :(

  • i think its just like any doughter who is jelouse with other women toward her father and she just wanted his attention for atleast a night and the step mom bein used to havin all the attention at the events with her beauty and her voice got mad when snow white took the attention not only of the people but of the father and when she noticed that snow white did it like a challenge... well thats what i think

  • jealousy is wt spewed d loss of her child

  • The woman was wicked from the begining... her soul sold to her mirror.... to herself. Her need is to be the number one, granted no woman should bare to loose there child. She was a coveting woman from what others had, yet when Lilly wore her mothers dress, the stress and haunting of it all was to much. But as you see in the beginning, the Step mother was nice indeed, but as innocent child eyes are always able to see, she new her step mothers kindness was a false perception.

  • @MyLovingAngel

Don't assume that just because she's the stepmother she has to be evil. That's hardly fair.

"innocent child eyes are always able to see"? Children are the least capable of telling good from bad because they're gullible. Innocence simply implies that they easily corrupted and manipulated. Children perceive others in a way that is purely based on superficial appearances, it's hard for them to tell when they're being lied to.

Lilli is just being a spoiled, selfish brat.

  • @00xque00 I doubt it. Kids are my profession and as I know, they have a true sight of people most miss as adults. Small lies are easy to miss.... but when a child hears a lot of small lies, the big picture is clear. Yea, Lilly is a brat I don't argue that... but that stepmother is evil and is willing to kill as many innocent as she likes to get what she wants. She is not evil because she is a stepmom, not hardly she is evil because she is a sociopath. She's evil by choice.

  • @MyLovingAngel The mother didn't turn evil until she lost her child. Before that she seemed a perfectly normal person.A little bit jealous like all women tend to be but HARDLY a sociopath and not "evil". She was GENUINELY nice to Lilli!

I do agree that in the "disney version" of this story the stepmother is a complete psychopath from the beginning, but in this movie the story is set so that viewers can understand and sympathise with the mother's side of the story.

  • @00xque00 Wait i meant sympathise but not AGREE. I read over that and it sounded like i was saying "killing is good" >_<

She becomes willing to kill innocent people AFTER her early labor and losing her long awaited child. I mean, 9 years is a very long time. To lose it after that would be understandably devastating.

My first comment was based on psychology, not experience with children. And most people can see the big picture after lots of small lies, not just children. What do you mean by that?

  • @00xque00 From the moment Lilli saw her she could tell that her Step Mom was strange. But after seeing her mirror murdered a maid, Lilli could tell her stepmom wasn't all there. I do agree with you though that she was not fully demonic until her child was lost. That is a very good point. But from that moment you agree she was evil. I mean people can be lead astray even when they see the bad.... but when a child sees the bad, the lies, they are harder to get to retrust. thats all i mean.

  • @00xque00 I'm not saying she was evil before her loss, I am saying she was clearly not in the right mind set. She was kind to little Lilli only to buy her love and Lilli saw right through it.

  • @MyLovingAngel

Actually, I'm inclined to disagree with you. While the stepmother certainly sold her soul to the mirror, both for power and eternal beauty, I don't believe that she was evil in the beginning. She only wanted what any woman of that time would wish for: a home, family, flesh born from hers in the form of a child, and the love of her husband. She tried to be kind to Lilly, but as time went on, and the child grew more beautiful, her insecurities grew. So she in turned became evil

  • @Lunara13 True, and let's face it, the way that Lilly treated her so badly and disrespectfully helped a lot in her becoming evil.

  • damn snow white is a bitch in the movie lol!

  • @KidAzin

I think Snow White was just trying to remind her stepmom that she wasn't little anymore, because her stepmom knew her when she was little and still saw her as that little girl. All parents have a hard time noticing when their kids get older.

  • I cant help but feel sorry for that poor woman losing her baby.

  • 5:11 aww :(

  • snow white was a bitch!

  • @urnext2 totally.

  • I feel kinda sorry for the step-mother it must be very hard to lose a baby u have been waiting so long for.

  • she is also angry because she cannot have a child anymore even though she really wants one of her own instead of lilli cause she's not her daughter

  • the stepmom not only was jealous of Lilli not wearing her gown, but also she reminded her father about her late mother and the stepmom knew he still loved her even though she's his current wife

  • maybe as people say the stepmom wast a bitch....at first...but she was a witch lmao....seriously if ou pay attention when she look at lilly she gives her this evil type eye smile thing :) so ya she wa kinda evil inside i think

  • Her stepmother is a witch.

  • i randomly want Lilli to make out with that

    Peter dude...

  • what does she have agains't the maid's hair..

  • dude, I don't understand why she's upset at around 9:20 when she's looking at herself in the mirror, I mean, she needs to understand that she just gave birth! no one looks put together or glamorous after giving birth! And why didn't the father go and comfort her after hearing that she had a miscarriage? Doesn't he care about her? WHY was she left ALONE in that state? [sigh] feel kinda bad for the stepmom :/

  • @h0lyd4bi3n This is supposed to be like back in the day, women were simply companions and child-bearers, that's it. Also, unlike now, and it being a "team effort", it wasn't like that then. Times change, though, and yeah, I can imagine the step mother going INSANE and HATING her step daughter. She lost her baby, whom was cast into the fire all uncaring like, and not to mention Lily treats her like shit. <_< I'd want her to "go away", too. D:

  • The stepmom was a witch duh!!

  • The stepmom was a witch duh!

  • She doesnt look that bad after going through all that with the baby being still born. :/

  • @prettygunneryuna Agree..she is still beautiful :/

  • dude the stepmom needs to chill

  • she blames lilly for the death i think, so thats why she goes buzurkkkk

  • Does anybody knows what's the music at 05:16 ?

  • such a brutal movie

  • who is Peter?

  • What's the occasion?

  • Lily is such a cow. Isn't the stepmom trying to be nice?

  • oh yea way to go with the fire..lol poor baby..

  • Poor baby indeed, but that's probably what happened to the bodies of stubborn babies. It was believed back then that stubborn babies didn't have souls and thus couldn't be buried in a grave

  • yea, the death of a child would rise red flags and most would think it was the work of the devil or that the mother had a covenant with the devil. which is why they would burn the still born.

  • hahahha the reason the stepmother wanted her to wear tht boring dress was so lily wouldnt look as good as the stepmom

  • i think lily is kind of a brat

  • @preciosanna yeah...she's spoiled

  • All the way down the line. Enjoy this film free @ MovieWatcher (.) US

  • at 5:18 the stepmother looked like she wanted to walk over to lilly & strangle her!LOL!

  • @bwoww I know. All throughout her marriage, the ghost of Lilliana(Lilli's Mom) has been "haunting" her. With Lilli showing up and taking the attention away from her,Claudia looked like she realized she lost.

  • I love segodney weaver as the evil queen she plays it so well

  • That stepmother has serious issues. Does she HAVE to be the center of attention at all times?

  • seriously!if i had a stepmother like her now i would punch her in the face!LOL!

  • "She will never bear a child." What, after giving birth, would mess up your ability to have a baby?

  • @EmmettCullen4pres

In that time, quite a lot.

  • No, I meant, what exactly is it that messes up your abilty to get pregnant after giving birth?

  • lol 1:35 when he's like "Ladies, will you excuse me" was their way of saying "Awkward..." lol

  • 5:16 "you show-stealing bitch....."

  • survivor, you said "to the early 17th century but every painting of noble women I see from 1600-1800 is corsets, cinchers and tits, tits, tits

  • My apologies...sorry about that!

    My fault!

  • Now, Claudia's "party dress" would have been considered indecent around this time. Woman did not exposed cleavange back in the 10th-early 17th Century and it was considered scandaleous to that. Back then, woman had to cover up their breasts with every intention to appear modest and lady-like. Usually, a woman who shows her cleavage would have been considered a whore and nothing more.

  • how horrible!

  • What year is the timeline of this movie suppose to be? 14th? 15th Century? It doesn't give a specific timeline, so I presume it is around the Black Plague era.

  • Lilli is incredibly irritating. "I'm not a girl anymore!!!" Right, you're a whiny adolescent.

  • @thePlagueCat Seriously...she didnt even give her Stepmom a chance. Maybe if she did, Claudia wouldn't have been jealous of her.

  • @thePlagueCat lol good one

  • Is Sigourney Weaver singing? She has a nice voice

  • look no ones hot after giving birth get over it

  • My dad wanted to name me Claudia when I was born....

    My mom said no

  • haha good for you

  • It's sick that the stepmother is jalous because Friederick thinks that his OWN daugther is beatiful and looks like her mother! It would be wierd if he react on a diffrient way wouldn't it?

  • wow, lilys bloke has a gnarly ginger wig on the go!! *snorts laughing*

  • Wow, a birthing chair in a fairy tale. I wonder if they really had such things back then.

  • Yes, they did. And, if I'm not wrong, they still do today.

  • Yes, I see that it was used during the Renaissance but became out of favor when doctors replaced mid-wives. It didn't come back into fashion again until the latter part of the 20th century.

  • About Claudia vs Lilly: i think they have good and bad characteristics because a person is always mixed...nobody is purely good or bad (normally)they are even at the beginning...the movie shows the evolution:stepmother becoming an obsessed, raving lunatic, while Lilly becomes a woman, who can make the difference between good and bad...she becomes a better person in the end. stronger.those guys called her princess just because she was a rich man's daughter. Irony. That is what i think...

  • @bathoryeszter Only because im studying fairytales at the moment, i feel i should respond - fairytale characters are meant to be two dimensional to better serve their purpose as being symbolic representations of our inner emotions. The purpose of fairytales is to give our subconscious a deeper understanding of anxieties and how to deal with them.

  • @bathoryeszter (cont.)Films such as these which portay the heroine as being inconsiderate of others raises our antipathy for them, whereas its the stepmother that raises our sympathy. It doesn't have the same subliminal impact on us. But then, fairytales werent told for the cinema, where 3 dimensional characters are needed for believabilty.

  • wow lilly is kind of a ...well...bitch.

    just saying.

  • i know right

like... okay yeah her mom becomes a freaky witch

but she was just being all nice to her in the beginning

    giving her stuff, acting nicely

and lily would just bitch. haha

  • well, hello? lily did watch claudia and that dude make out so her "bitchiness" is more out of distrust than actual dislike.

  • Besides the point that if you look at her closely, Claudia seems to thrive the best when she has everyone's attention on her. That's why she's always got to be the most well-liked and it's why she's always trying to squash Lillian's beauty. She can't stand the competition.

  • i think the reason the queen got so mad was becuase she lost her mind after waiting so long to have a child it died . becuase she went into labor early

i dont think that she actually hated lilly becuase it was obivous she was trying to be nice she even asked her why they fault but lilly still pushed it . i acutally feel really bad for the queen becuase it seemed like she was trying so hard an every thing she did went to crap . :(

  • that vioce would scare the hell out of me!

  • I actually feel bad for the stepmom...she wasn't a bitch at first.

  • I don't really feel bad for the queen as some seem to. She is jealous not only of the kings past away wife, but also clearly of Lilly herself. If you go back to part 2 you see her showing off infront of the kings small daughter as they make out and here she is angry at him being concerned about Lilly. She is extremely possesive and vindicitiv and she blames the girl, even if Lillys anger may have been unjustified at the very first sight, for everything that goes wrong for her.
