  • I thought this was the coasters! I remember it wrong or they did it second? Great song. Bet they Coasters were sad they didn't get it.

  • The Chambers did record it...I think it was on their live album...

  • I remember 1959 and Philly! Late 50's early 60's. Great example of the times. ;)

  • Excellent example of music from the "sweet spot of Doo Wop". Beatles, nope, Micheal Jackson, nope, Lady Gaga...really nope! ;)

  • anyone know anything about the Fellows

  • LOVE IT...one version everyone overlooks (and I can't track it down anywhere) is the Blues Busters...anyone out there have it?...thanks PJ

  • Great Memories! I was a little kid then but my parents loved to entertain and have weekend house parties. Our fish frys and BQ's were the best! That was when being family was real! My Grandparents would even dance and show there stuff on this song! Everybody came over even the neighboors :-) My parents, and grandparents are gone on with the lord now, but their memiores will last forever!

  • Really cool reading most people's memories. So I'll add mine. I was a little kid when this out - got played at our family 4th of July and Memorial Day pic nics for about four years straight - this one, along with the Jack of All Trades and many others. Great memories of all my family together- so many are dead now. But, fond memories just the same - all the kids taking turns churning the home made ice cream thingy and, of course, we were the designated DJ's, as well as self-appointed.

  • Didn't the Chambers Brothers also record this tune?

  • It's funny how many covers there are of this tune: Arthur Alexander, Robert Gordon, The Walker Brothers, just to name a few.

  • I grew up listening to the 50s and I always liked this sing! It has a catchy tune! Does anybody know what year this song is from?

  • I remember this song from when I growing up in 4th Ward of Atlanta, Georgi during the late 50, It still sounds great. It crossed my mind today and found it here on YouTube.\

  • I notice there are several versions of this song. But, this will always be my favorite. Eugene and I even have the same first name.

  • BIG THANKS, Phunky! Song was in my head half the day and I'd forgotten it was Eugene Church, NOT Richard Berry!

  • This song is great! I obtained it on one of those cheapy one dollar oldies albums that used to be serialized in the early sixties. You know, the ones that used to look like the Original Sound 'Oldies But Goodies' albums. These records also featured some great obscure songs from the 50's and 60's. I wish I still had mine. I remember one in particular that had a strange version of the song 'Alley Oop'.

  • @jacksterner :

The first album I ever owned was one of those that had "Pretty Girls Everywhere" on it, what a fantastic album, "The Clouds" by The Spacemen was on it too, as well as "My Juanita" by The Crests, what good music that was!

  • I forgotten about this still love it
