  • how do you think this would do recording music?

  • @mouthforwar93 Not very well. The mic would not operate well in a loud packed environment.

  • i would get a flip instead

  • Do you actually know the difference it will make if they included a stereo microphone. I would say 98% of people won't be listening to youtube in a real stereo setup.

  • Just a reference for anyone converting movie formats - grab a copy of Format Factory. It is a multifunctional media converter.

    Provides functions below:

    All to MP4/3GP/MPG/AVI/WMV/FLV/SWF.

    All to MP3/WMA/AMR/OGG/AAC/WAV.

    All to JPG/BMP/PNG/TIF/ICO/GIF/TGA.

Its FREE but worth a donation to the programmer also easy to use.

    Hope that helps ;-)

  • Nice pc´s

  • As long as you don't submerge the camera it works great! My brother took it kayaking and the first 5 minutes he totally flipped, and it got really wet. It turned on at first, but after a while it stopped. I think it got too wet. We went home and dried it, now it works fine again. Only you can see a wet mark on the screen. It plays back fine on computer and TV though. Man, I love this camera for the price though.

  • I've had no issues using the ZX1 with Windows 7 and W/Movie Maker. The sound is the issue I have - not only is it mono but it is really, really quiet too.

  • I bought a Kodak Zx1 for 40GB£ (65US$/49€) and I'm happy with it. The sound recording and zoom are far from perfect but suit me and, so far, the image quality is the best I've seen in HD720p pocket cameras - I usually use the HD60 mode (720p @ 60fps). The Zx1 looks bulky but it's still the size of a cellphone and overall smaller than most pocket cameras. It's also reasonably rugged and easy to use. Plus, it uses common AA batteries (easier to find and replace than lithium-ion batteries).

  • Do you think it would be safe to take this on a water slide?

  • @samtindall32089 Its splash proof but not waterproof. As long as you don't drop it in the water it should be ok.

  • @dazz4590 Hmmmm I'm not sure I wanna chance it! I wasn't planning on taking it on ones that end in a pool but I don't go on slides often enough to know how wet I'll get! Thanks!

  • @samtindall32089 a waterproof Kodak camera, is either the playsport, or the Zi8.

  • Hey thanks for saying about the microphone on this. All the other things about this apart from that made me think this was a better option than the flip mino. .Mov format? that other woman didn't tell me about that either.

  • £39.97 on amazon now

  • what videos have you got on youtube thats been recorded with this and how well does it cope in a situation like this video is

im want to get it for youtube videos reviews and stuff like that and doing iphone app reviews would it be suitible thanks

  • @thecreativegeek I have linked to sample videos in the blog post or search my youtube channel for zx1. Probably not good for iphone app reviews because the Zx1 can't focus within one metre.

  • @dazz4590 ok thank you it looks like a good camera is it ok for youtube videos as i can get it for £49.99 and 50 pounds is my limit could you reccomend anything in that limit thanks

  • @dazz4590 it seems good for what i want it for if you still have the camera could you do a video on it recording the xbox 360 screen please

  • @thecreativegeek I've recorded a few game screens using the Kodak Zx1. Search PES 2010 on my channel as that was done with the Zx1

  • @thecreativegeek its good for youtube just not in dark dark places and not for close up things. well judge yourself by watching my "Kodak Zx1 low light video" check my channel

  • if you want the files to work with final cut then download MPEG STREAMCLIP (free) for mac. then convert your files to DV format, then they will work fine with final cut.

  • Good job mate!

  • @ballchair2 Thanks!

  • does this camera have a macro focus or auto focus?

  • Unfortunately no

  • good solid review!

  • so you cant just make a video and pause and go to the next scene

  • You take a video. Stop. Then take another video.

  • hey can it pause

  • In a stop motion sense no. But you can take photos with it.

  • love the review

  • Good vids, keep it upp :)
