So im already rooted with the android 2.3.3 and now there is a system update to 2.3.5 should i update or not? Will it cause any problems since im rooted?

I'm literally pulling all the rest of my hair out. Keep getting stuck with an invalid beta key. I have looked at the 12 diget S/N multiple times and I have wrote it down and rewrote it multiple times too. Same number. The beta key I get is the same one, EVERY.......SINGLE.......TIME. Still no dice. I dont understand. Is there any help you can offer regarding this issue?

the file that you told us to put a folder name ROOT on the desktop and put in the rar and extract it is revolutionary-0.4pre4 but the one your using is revolutionary-0.4pre3 could it be that, that's why I'm getting stuck.

And anyways, on screen recorders are fucking useless.. all they do is create a bunch of shitty laggy videos. So how about you take your fancy pants else ware?!? Go watch another video, I never said you had to like it. Look around at other root videos. Do you see any of them using an on screen recorder? HMMMM?? Take your cap lock and "GTFO!"

@ImperialDoor It IS recommended to do so, but not necessary. Say you wanted to install a new ROM, you have have to restore your phone to factory. I did it, it's not that bad. But you should write down all your contact information before hand.(Obviously) Oh, and make sure you remeber the info to your google account because if you reset your phone, you are going to need to enter your google account login/pass.

I was wondering what I could have done wrong since I followed all the steps, but when I try and do recovery after the reboot and boot loader, I only get a red triangle that never allows the blue revolutionary screen to come up? Any solutions? Or any suggestions to something I could do to get this completed correctly.

@u4e8996 YES, you need to install a custom recovery... Which I showed in the video. It's built into revolutionary, all you need to do is flash is from revolutionary.exe its called clockwork mod

YESS!!!!! IT WORKED!!!!! s-off!!!!!!! but can i still install all my old roms for my evo???and for the pple having trouble with cmd prompt, try right clicking in the TITLE BAR of the command prompt window and selecting edit > mark and then selecting the serial number exactly as it appears then right click again and copy and paste the number into the beta key window on ur browser. USB DEBUGGING MUST BE ON AND PHONE SET TO CHARGE ONLY!! and fastboot drivers are a must for this 2 work.!!

i've been waiting for about 5min at the "waiting for phone" part in revolutionary. I've turned off all my antivirus software. Any suggestions?

@DancinBoi07 Make sure you installed the HTC Drivers, set phone to charge ONLY, then turn usb debugging ON. Open revolutionary and enter your betta key, when it says waitting for device, plug the EVO in your computer... then it SHOULD reconize the phone. Also make sure HTC Sync is Un-Installed. If it still doesnt work, try plugging it in to a different USB slot, still doesnt work? The only thing you can really do is try it on another Computer. if you dont have access to one, try factory Re-set

your phone need to be on, usb debugging on, and in disk drive mode. then rev will see the serial and give you entry space for the beta you got
