hey dude i think all of your videos of rabit snaring is awesome ive been tyring to do it i juts set up 2 of these snares that u use and im digging around a 3 feet pit with concave walls on another trail also
this is very helpful. my dad swore up and down that he would teach me how to trap and never did. i got curious and your videos were the first to pop up. thanks! i'll have to try this sometime soon when i'm at the farm. :)
I'm sure that you've probably answered this before, but what kind of knife are you using? It looks like it cuts through bone very easily. Thank you. Your new friend - Missy
Good vid. One thing I would suggest though. Check the the liver for Tularemia it is easy to do and is very evident. I have found it in several Muskrat I have caught.
hey nice video I am always a big fan of your videos. I am also a big fan of survival and tried out one of your traps on your video but no luck yet. I am trying to catch some rabbit but i cant seem to catch them i was wondering what bait i should use right now i am trying cherries looking foward to your reply
Ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! poor rabbit but that isnt what I focuse more in is how grows it is wackawakca yucky but men rabbits are easy to peel. hahhahahha dont slip with the rabbit fur!
what the hell are you talking about i guess you are 14 and not a prick what does that have to do with anything grow up or try to come back at me with something better then what i said and no im not 14 im 25 my balls have droped so things like this doesnt get to me in anyway its part of life laren to live with it or stfu bottom line
peta is made of psychos that's true, and we need to eat meat. but setting traps instead of hunting.. well that's the only thing which can be cruel and gay at the same time.
small game is not cruel...rabbit snares are not cruel as lets say...deer or 500 lbs bear snare...that is cruel they suffer, this small ones are gone fast. use rifles or compound bows for big game (bows have bigger trauma impact force than bullet)
what you do is cut the skin along the stomach ( without cutting into the stomach or it will spoil the meat) then ripping the fur off. then turn the rabbit upside down and cut a slit along its stomach. as you turn the rabbit right side up, the stomach and intestines should fall out, and anything that doesnt can be scooped out with ease. Then, break the ribs along the center and cut a slit of skin to pull out the heart and a few other bits and bobs. there, you are done.
i really like that method of skinning because all u did was kit around the feet pulled then doun and cut accross the frount it's good because you can take off the skin with out damaging it to much and use it fo other things
I didn't know you just start like that with no knife. Do you have to cut first before you peel on the legs like that? Never did it before but I know the info is useful.
If you are a wussy that thinks the meat on your table falls outta the sky in the foam tray and cellophane, you will be sorry for watching this video. Please go back to watching "Days of Our Lives."
I always grab the rabbit by the back with both hands and tear the skin, pulling it apart . no knife required. Then take all the "goodies" out of the body, And have a full cleaned bunny. And I love the song you put with the video!!!
what are some characteristics of a rabbit trail? there is a local preserve near me and one place, a meadow with human height grasses has game trails criss crossing all over it. How can i tell whats rabbit, deer, etc.
Great way to skin a rabbit!! and heres a trick, The trick is to cut open the stomoc like you would any other time & raise the rabbit above your head like you are holding onto an axe and then accellerate the critter downward and between your legs. The entrail will come out when your forearms stop abruptly as they slam into your thighs. It is this sudden stop that causes the dressing to take place. works everytime and just as easy as this skinning method. can clean them in a matter of 2 mins =)))
does anyone know what to do with the skins to make them soft so i can keep them to make something with? i don't want them to rot or smell + i want them to be fixable, soft + clean like fur coats how can i do it?
no,but close with rabbits or small un greasy game aka not coons or fox. you put salt on the skin and clean it off(scrape with a knife) after a day or 24 hrs and resalt the second time you "clean" the skin make sure all the fat is off then clean with toothbrush and dawn dishsoap lightly (to make sure the salt is off) then cabbellas sells a formula that you rub on and let set [: or else you have to use the brains ehhhhhhck do the formula
Great vid! I raised rabbits for meat when my kids (7 of 'em) were small.Got to the point where I could kill and dress out a bunny in 3 minutes flat, lol! Do you ever save the skins? I made a lot of *bunny blankets* for the kids (my 26 yr old still has his and sleeps with it, lmao)
Where I live rabbit snaring is legal. The season is from Nov 1 to the end of Feb.
You should be able to find out the laws in your area by contacting your local DNR (Department of Natural Resources) at least that is what it is called here in Canada, it may be called something different in the UK.
Thanks for the educational video. Great music, too! I'm overrun with rabbits, but I'm not sure I can legally snare them, as I'm in the city limits. Of course, if I get hungry enough.... ;-)
Can you make another field dressing video using the whole rabbit? I know this particular rabbit had been mangled by a predator so that only the back legs were good, but I'd still like to know what to do with the rest of the rabbit. :-)
for me... if i wasnt goingto do anything with the fur... i would just burn off all the hair and make surei burjn ALL of them off.. and then i scrape off all the hair in water.. and then i start going from there... eat the skin with it...
hi. i am really interested in trapping. my dad got me into it. i'm only 12 so its probably not going to be easy to catch a squirel with a snare (i suck at making snares) but i got my dads squirrel cage trap and its set outside right now. i live in southern missouri so it shouldn't be that hard to find a rabit or squirel. all i want is a skin stretched accross my wall to complete the hunterness of it. i need to learn hows to skin one to make sure i keep the skin in good condition. thanks

I flagged this video as it really is shocking and disgusting content. There are millions of kids on youtube isnt it a bit irresponsible to show such unecessary gore? By the way I see that youtube marked the video as unsuitable for under 18's I totally agree with that.
if you dont eat meat, it's easy to think that a video like this is just gore. anyone who is not a vegan has a (mostly ignored) responsibility to learn about where there food comes from. learning to trap small game is one of many steps in bringing yourself back into the circle of life. If you live in modern society, you support an infrastructure that kills animals, regardless of your dietary habbits. and please remember, tho only real difference between an animal and a plany is YOUR PERCEPTION
the only reason people started eating meat to begain with was purly for survival so when the brainless masses can`t afford eating veggies and tofo they will crawl back to the basic hunter gather techniques or they will die
Actualy humans evolved to eat meat because of our growing energy needs. meat is a better source of protine than veggies. so we started eating fluffy little animals like that bunny up there in the video
o quit your damn whining. its a fact of life. and whats so disgusting about food, its better to teach kids where food really comes from instead of feeding them fairy tales.
dude grow up. It's nature and nothing in nature is really disgusting. If you were starving you are saying that you wouldn't eat it because of the way it looks. Shut your face healthyoptions. We don't want to hear it.
HealthyOptions flagged this video for the young viewers. I believe this to be educational. What should be banned is all the trash that the young viewers watch on television and video games. Good video.
when i gutt a rabbit i puch all the gutts towards the bumm of it and then i fling it really hard between my legs it works very well for me to just gutt it and thank you it was very informational

The only problem with snares is when the rabbit gets pinched by foxes or other people.
Its not a bad method if you need to control the population but I like to use a .22 rifle to catch my supper.

Good video.
