  • Im the same as this guy, im trying to get my body a bit on sides and stick my knee out and i'm doing pretty well, just started about week ago and when you will turn with your body it will feel a bit strange like the bike is...slippin out of your hands but its normal feeling you will get use to it, any way some times im just a bit scared to use it coz im scared my bike will fall with me. never do it on wet road ;)

  • cut the music!

  • Ok I understand the uppper body, but what do you do with the legs and the feet? I'm seeing this guy using one knee against the tank, while I see others pushing out both away from the tank. I personally try to use one knee or my inner thigh, but am I cornering wrong?

  • @pilot7180 Get Twist of the Wrist 2 and the video. You will learn a lot, but not squeezing the tank with both legs also works.

  • Michael is absolutely right! Most of the wannabes just hang their ass off, but men's upper body is much heavier than the lower body.

  • @Woifeei yea too true mate I must admit I havn't been riding long and I do the old 'ass off' and thats all.. He is right in what he says andthinking back on it now I was twisted while riding. This vid is really good tips like this might save a few lives hope other wannabes learnt something from it

  • can I do this on a cruiser suzuki marauder 125, to a lesser extent? when im corning I feel like alot of the time the bike just wants to go straight and if I lean it even a little too much it feels like it will definitely fall.

  • @haptenmitogen Buy the book "Twist of the wrist 2" Keith code. It will answer all your questions. It is for performance bike riding but applicable to all riders. It will give you all the tools you need.

  • Not always done well on bumpy public streets. On public streets, half of my technique is feeling every inch of the road as I go along it—immediate compensation w/ steering & braking (even engine braking). And I’m humble—I won’t do curves quick. These things allow me to practically muscle-around a 650lb sport touring bike I can barely lift (probably do wonders on a 450lb R1 or 570lb Busa).

  • how i get here from dubstep?

  • anyone else notice that in these vids they say you should be looking past the mirror but they never are? jus wonderin lol

  • is that fat bastard serious? why dont u sit up straighter? lol

  • hang off you fat cunt!!!! hang off!!!!!!!

  • @leon23021983 lol

  • Respect doing training on a track and not on the streets like most people

  • i remember watching this vid a few months ago... and it really helped me goin around roundabouts (not the proper small ones of course), not the fact im going around faster but mainly because i felt safer and the cars behind me aren't mount and make love to my bike because of this technique... thanks for sharing this vid :)

  • Musics not bad at all IMO :)

  • @TRDBaron

going up and down from highways are pretty good corners for knee dragging also, thats where my knee pad lost it virginity

  • awful backgroun muzak

  • im from the philippines i have a super 4 bike at first i try i i was a bit scary to try.. im afraid that the my bike might fell or slide.. it's a bit awkward for me.. but with a little practice and accident..hahaha. i finally got it..with the right speed and right track//thanks bro!!

  • If you're going to tease me with the music, you may as well get some micro bikini models standing around in this video so everything goes together.

  • Can u do this with a scooter ? what speed should i achieve to corner succesfully.. im a bit afraid of cornering at 60 km/h...thanx

  • @JovanOhrid your footrest(or whatever its called, the place where you rest your feet) will hit the road if you lean too much on a scooter. That's ofcourse your tires don't give up before that.

  • @JovanOhrid sccoters hav diff type of wheels on them... as in they are flater towards the bottem compared to motorbikes...its probably not very safe.....but i gess u could still giv it a go??? : /

  • @hvkv0000 Thats not a problem, the size (smaller, thus less stable) and weight of the bike matter alot more.. When i got off my bike and on to my moped the first few corner i tend to overlean and fall over (you also moss torque to prevent u fron learing too much)

  • @JovanOhrid lolwut

  • Love the music, but more the tips! The hoast is great. Bravo. Ducati monster

  • Stop complaining, Porno music is the best kind of music.

  • the fucks with the porn music

  • 0:35 that's how i used to do corners! very stiff! torso in the same line as the motorcycle. i don't do that anymore and in-corner balance and control has improved

  • very helpful video man

  • Good info! Finally a video that actually has an explananation!!

  • copo ccd

  • Same principle for road biking. Especially all the tour's of the pros

  • Great advice, horrific music. Skip the tunes for the next videos, mkay?

  • Bikers that take time to teach other bikers to ride safer by using some technique, are without question the coolest bikers!

  • MORE VIDS LIKE THIS!

  • the reason he was so stiff on the bike was becoz hes a fat fuck with no athleticism hahha

  • @reddevil211287 true

  • @reddevil211287 hahahahahaha thats what i was thinking

  • @reddevil211287

u better did if u kept your comments like this. watch the video again, after he has got the proper instructions he did very well

  • @colosistvan awww...I wasn't being mean to the bloke. haha, I was just saying the fat rolls in his tummy was impeding with his ability to take sharp, clean corners...as he wasn't able to lean over as much as a more fitter person. And ofcoz after instruction, he did look a bit more proficient....mucho propz!

  • MCN is awesome ! thanks for the upload... a lot of riders use misleading techniques since no one is there to tell them otherwise.

    Good Job MCN !

  • Very informative. Thank you. The video I watched before this would have gotten me killed! :)

  • love the video. Film one without music!

  • i practice this on my bicycle

  • good video tried this as a relatively new rider (2 years riding) and corners feel far better, dont know if i am going faster but the bike feels settled, and its easier to get on the power earlier........ well done mcn

  • Oh my god turn that awfull music off!!!!!

  • my dream at the moment a thundercat, because its cheap enough for me to buy it maybe some day...

  • To the responses I posted. Though this is great advice and I agree with it. Something like this is taught at a MSF Sport bike course if you have the opportunity to take one or attending a track day that offers "classroom" instruction. I went to one that actually had a bike on a lean machine and was taught all the contact points and how it really feels (and awkward) to lean the bike over. Practice makes perfect and might save your bum if you find yourself a little fast into a turn on the street.

  • can you do this with normal/stock tires? im always afraid of doing this because i dont wanna slide and crash the bike, even slowly in a parking im always afraid of sliping on dirt or little rocks

  • @Rowdie999 Yes you can do this on normal/stock tires, unless they're bald. Tire technology is really good to where these tires will hold grip in dry/wet conditions. I know this because I've done a handful of track days on mine and rubbed the strips off with no sense of danger. What Mr. Neeves advocates where your body position needs to be puts your bike in a position where it's more upright and therefore you have more grip. However, dirt, oil, antifreeze, rocks, etc. you still have to watch out

  • take the music out for the love of God

  • hold on i want to retract my last comment cuz i think i just learnt something... i ride a naked bike a fz6... i am afraid by leaning i will cause a low slide accident... is this type of body positioning related to the speed you are going or can this technique be used for slow cornering as well

  • @yannick4123 Both yes and no. Leaning off in which its being done requires a bit of speed to maintain your line around the corner. IMO, leaning off on the street requires you to exceed the speed limit however, it'll save your bum if you find yourself going to hot into a decreasing radius turn. Now putting your chin to where the mirror is is a technique that won't get john law after you (in some states) and baby steps you into what they're doing in the vid and works well for lawful street speeds.

  • @frostedto you are def. right with the decreasing radius.. i just put myself into the situation where i was going too fast downhill around a tight corner in the black forrest. The first time i paniked and out of sheer stupidity i hit the front brake and ended up on the other side of the street, luckily there was no car, second time i leant and it worked but it does need a lot of confidence.. its not easy to do in my opinion ( if you love your bike and wanna keep it in once piece)

  • jeez rich... with that weight u must have a 7000 cc bike...

  • @yannick4123 ive seen guys that big on a 50cc scooter and it does just fine

no sure its as fuel efficient..but it drives

  • MCN - The Top Gear of the motorcycle world.

  • i could see a definate improvement but the guys a big bloke so its quite hard for the guy to realy shift him self around and hes not on a modern superbike like the MCN fella but nice info anyway i knew stuff this from watching my fav rider Max Biaggi as ive grown up studing riding so i can be my best :)

  • ha body weight...

  • Here's a novice question: What is the minimum speed you do before you can bank or even get your knee down? (In a safe manner of course)

  • @Crystalinalake Speed isn't the issue. You can drag elbow at walking pace. You better have your tires at the right temperature though. Bikes rely on getting the rubber good and tacky unlike cars that rely of down-force.

  • @Crystalinalake about 30 mph

  • @Kyr4x Many thanks for the response sunshine.

  • @TheBayliss155 You still don't know the difference between a high speed corner and a low speed corner. Your video game didn't explain that to you I guess.

  • Reminded me of a bad 80's movie with Kenbouy in it !

  • @TheBayliss155 Lol, you are a sad sack TheBalless155. Just so that you understand, because you play some motorcycle video games, does not mean that you know anything about actual real world riding. BTW, I ask again, why do you hide behind a profile with no videos, no pictures, and no real name? Because even you know that you are a spineless TROLL. Did you get off again today while watching your UFC videos? Chinga tu madre! BACLA! Kaie taie mata usi. Foouo aheo.

  • @kenbouy

KFC is for gays,k-1 baby :)

  • @kenbouy

Why you so mad...i only said it reminded me on a bad 80's movie kenbouy in it.

This video actually debunks ur stupid commment on that honda video :)

So pay attention ! and watch...because bodyposition is something you dont know shit about.

  • Mcn is a brilliant channel whit great tips, but they just have to stop the nonssens whit their silly background music haha its elevator music at it worst!!! pleace stop!!

  • I thought one should counter steer when turning at high speed like they're doing on this video. He didnt talk at all about counter steering.

  • cant undertand why they sayit twisted rember troy bayliss his style wasnt head but the road style he road very centred on his bike and look what he achived

  • bloody noisy music can not hear a thing!!

  • wtf stfu about the music ffs. It was just some gentle quiet music to mute the quietness. silly people

  • why is there hair commercials for this motorcycle video?

  • is that it? awwwww, i thought you were going to tell about all the parameters for the riders position, that i can change in the game tourist trophy!

  • Seriously fix the fuckin audio levels. What moron decided to put the backing music track that high?

  • He'd really benefit from a halfway decent bike too. A cat seriously ?

  • @cartbozman hi, its not what you got, but how you ride it, dick.

  • @floyd1252 That's what your Mum said to me too, fucknut.

  • @LBGproductions and commercials

  • PORN MUSIC GAGAGAGAGAGA

  • Don't you understand the music of a finely tuned motorcycle, not this trash that really detracts from the video. Hard to understand what you are saying when you are competing with the music.

  • Video is quite informative but massively destroyed by background music.

  • porn music!? REMOVE MUSIC!

  • Please don't ruin any more of your videos with music, especially music that's so loud that it overpowers the discussion!

  • Personally I feel alot of riders need a lesson in how to countersteer =D

  • Porn Music!!!

  • Fat ass :))

  • lose the music please :S this vid would be so much better without it...

  • Gordo só faz gordisse

  • can i EVER watch a vid on you tube with out some one asking "whats the music"

  • PORNO MUSIC.♪♫

  • @harmonicgrunt well riding your bike IS like watching porn :D

  • @harmonicgrunt learning how to corner & drag knee on a bike is better than porn so its makes sense they used this music.

  • @harmonicgrunt omg sooo true!

  • @harmonicgrunt how did u do this => ♪♫ ?

  • @harmonicgrunt how did u do this => ♪♫ ? i ♥ it ☺

  • @melagads simply press the alt button and any number from 1 up to 30(i guess) at the same time and you will have different symbols

  • @melagads

  • @harmonicgrunt perfect to jerk to!

  • I'm too scared to lean off the bike that far to be honest.

  • @TwinStatesBassClub

imagine your head is a bowling ball.

when you turn swing your upper body off, and lower just a bit

  • @TwinStatesBassClub thats why u dont take a bike u wanna keep clean to the track ;)

When u lowside it, u can say bye bye fairings xD

  • if the two guys had moustaches and dodgy german accents it`could have been the start of a decent bluey...." Hi i`ve come to fix ze motorzycle, look you zipper`s lose let me adjust it with my tongue"

  • Can't these guys redo this video without the gay porn muzak? WTF is wrong with them?

  • I thought the commercial was the riding tip. I was like "so that's how you corner!"

  • Music makes me start whacking. Just can't help it. Camera work is surprisingly normal...what happened?

  • Gixxer :)

  • Whats with the porno music ?

  • @lateboy4 it sucks

  • Excellent....Excellent video

  • youtube.com/watch?v=RUp0XHbO4vs

  • get rid of the music !!

    ace video tho.

  • "mate"?

    wow gay guys :D

  • @Naturepheonix maybe they are australian mate or trying to act it champ.

  • @Naturepheonix what does the word mate have to do with gay guys?

  • question,,, should your body hug the tank or be slightly towards the back of the seat? thanks for any response

  • @gpspillane depends where you're riding. High speed, tight turns, should be hugging the tank, with an entire cheek off. Lower speeds, such as streets or canyons, only get half a cheek off, and keep your body more upright/less hugging of the tank. Hope that helps!!

  • @kratosistheman it does thanks... pretty much confirms what i have been doing

  • "He's a brilliant road rider..." Hehe! So gracious Mr Neeves :)

  • "Half a cheek" Brilliance!

  • Great tip on cornering...music makes me snicker a bit...ha, ha!

  • fag music

after the cornering lesson they are gona go apply that porn music more constructively in a gay shoot

  • We could definitely do without the music, but that's good advice, and a great video.

  • I like the mention that you need your head and upper body positioned on the outside of the mirror position...

  • BUWAKANG ng inanniyo

  • Now thats fucking AWESOME advice on leaning/handling. Its just makes sence and does help out a bunch if done correct. 5 stars bitches!!!

  • looks like its bruntingthorpe

  • so if i turn right my body should turn left ????

  • @empire562 No...that would be a terrible idea.

  • not your body but stearbar. Your body positioning should be left for left turn and right for right turn.

  • Nope

    turn right - move right

    Turn left - move left

  • A track in airport.

    That's cool.

  • haha nice! yeah my toes would touch the ground sometimes with my knee out, and I didn't realize till I was done that it shaved off one side of my shoe lol.

  • This shouldn't happen. Where are you feet positioned when you ride or corner? you should have the balls of your feet on the peg not your arch or heel. Only move to shift or rear brake then right back on the balls of your feet.

  • Your right, I normally have the peg in the arch. I've just been doing whats comfortable. I'll have to try that.

  • @MrSpeedfightRichy - parking lot practice helped me ALOT. Make sure you have good tires though because it will feel much smoother if they aren't worn down to an odd shape. After about 20 minutes of slow circles to large fast circles I felt like a new rider.

  • Comment removed

  • This helps alot, thanks

  • well i don't think that he leans his bike less in second attempt..look at the footrest they're much closer to the ground than in the first attempt.

  • :)

i had a friend who pretended that he weas in moto gp and kneeled down..haha he skinned his knee pretty bad....ride safe mate...merry christmas

  • dude the reason riders put their knees out is to support their whole mass including the motorcycle from the ground so they dont slam on the ground when turning sharp curves....but iam not saying that it is a bad idea cause yeh it does contribute for your balance just be suire that you have knee protection so you dont skin your knees...ouch!!!

  • uhh, no you can't support 500 plus pounds with one knee, the point of putting your knee down is to feel the road and to help with keeping the bike more upright by leaning off of it. Not to support the weight, where the hell did you get that?

  • e right angle in turning and to make sure that the motorcycle dont skid of the ground because as you can see you and your bike will be in a low slanting position, have you watched moto gp? c the riders who put theire knees down to late? they tend to skid of or slide of out track....

  • Riders put their knee out (and hang off) to lower their body mass (resulting in less of a lever for the forces of the turn to pry against), create resistance from the knee as a pivot point, and as a feeler/indicator of bike lean angle.

Centrifugal force (and the outside leg) keep the rider on the bike. A knee may help save a low side slide situation but believe me, it's purpose isn't to support our body mass.

  • pls remove the background sound or at least lessen its volume its irritating to hear and i cant understand what they are saying

  • yes they should because you pay them

  • great videos guys, really helping me out

  • Comment removed

  • does this works with dirt bikes( like the Honda tornado 250) im doing it with my bike and im a little frustratd that she might slip off in a corner

  • i dont think so dude, cause if u could compare the two bikes proportion the dirt bike is a little bit higher so this position cannot be applied to your dirt bike because it was not develope for dirt bikes...better stick with your traditional stance in cornering with a dirt bike..its a lot safer...ride safe

  • Real men can physically lick the road as they go through the corners.

  • they could not do that because of their helmet

  • real men ride with only aviators for protection. back in my day we used to go through a couple of s-bends instead of going to the dentist.

  • moo goo guy pan is yummy

  • Rich, how ya doin' mate?

  • I am very new to sportbikes ( always had cruisers ). I had a very hard time cornering my bike until I heard this exact same advice from a friend. Try it, it works.

  • ya it really works i tried it before and it really felt comfortable going around corners.

  • The more you lean off the bike the more upright it stays. Thats why you've got chicken strips. Increase your speed at your own pace and you'll wear those strips off and be a much quicker and more competent rider than any of your mates who are taking the piss.

  • thats simply not true

  • good vid

  • let them slag you off?

As long as you got some fun and can keep it save, that's all that matters ;)

those last mm's don't count when you're in an ambulance .

Just try to improve the skill and experience and all will go on you're own tempo , don't mind others ;)

Maybe they have it on the wrong end..using a wrong technique driving them to the limits of their tires..who will laugh when that limit is passed!?

  • this may sound silly but my m8s slag me off for having chicken strips on the back tyre. i think i get the bike over pretty far but still the strips .... any ideas.

    (fireblade rider)

  • yea, dont think about it. the point of this video is to lean the bike only as much as necessary and use your weight. in motorcycle world people always wanna b macho, about cc's and bullshit. its a dangerous hobby and u shouldnt worry about assholes mocking your treadwear.

  • I agree. Ride your own ride. You said it well.

  • if youre still alive, then you lean far enough mate

  • lol yea good point. ride safe m8

  • good tips, but what the hell is this music? Its like the menu on Gran Turismo or something, get rid of it !

  • @Biker16Madd ... or like in a cheap porn :)
