  • Perfect Woody film, beautiful balance of comedy and drama.

  • Great movie

  • this one has basically the same actors as MAnhattan Murder Mystery

  • ..the last line .....wow.

  • "Love is a luxury i can't afford" D:

  • thank you

  • this looks like a good movie

  • The trailer is wonderful, the sudden change from comedy to tragedy, the soundtrack change, i´m getting this movie now!

  • The trailer really characterizes the movie well, from the cheery music, to a straight transition of complete seriousness.

  • adamrant I agree with you! :)

  • a man took a shit on my sister...haha jesus christ watch it stoned

  • i loved mighty aphrodite but they are such different films- i love them both

  • i was 14 or so when i saw this at the cinema with my best friend. We practically wet ourselves when Woody is telling the story of how a guy pooed on his sister. I think the rest of the people in the cinema were horrified though.

  • woody's most perfect mixture of comedy and drama, an absolute picture perfect masterpiece, quite possibly the greatest film in the career of a genius filmmaker

  • Still my favorite movie of all time!

  • Movie was o.k. but it felt like there were a couple of movies going on. Would have liked to see further development of the Landau dilemma. Got to do a shout out for Broadway Danny Rose, a perfectly integrated Woody film experience.

  • is this the film where he talks about the guy who pooed on his sister?

  • @yharyhar8 yes

  • @yharyhar8 Yes. lol

  • does anyone know the music in this?

  • It comes from Singin' in the Rain, but I don't know the exact name of the song.

    Hope this helps. :)

  • i think it's "dream of you"

  • Bad in what way?

  • That line 'God is a luxury I can't afford' sounds like it could've been lifted from a Bergman film. ;)

  • What the hell was wrong with Halley? You can't trust any of Mia Farrow's characters!

  • This is one of Allen's best. Why doesn't he always work with Martin Landau? He's fantastic! Landau in Crimes and Misdemeanors is right up there with Diane Keaton in Annie Hall, Mia Farrow in The Purple Rose of Cairo, and Diane Wiest in Hannah and Her Sisters as the Best Woody Allen film performances ever.

  • @isakborg88 agreed! except i actually find dianne wiest's performance in bullets over broadway superior to the hannah and her sisters one

  • @DarkChild91 Yeah I go back and forth on which one of those is more impressive. But when it's Dianne Wiest we're talking about, prioritization doesn't really matter. She's always amazing.

  • @isakborg88 exactly:D

  • I agree this is his best work - and I don't know who I admire more, Martin Landau or Claire Bloom.

  • woody's most perfect mixture of comedy and drama, an absolute picture perfect masterpiece, quite possibly the greatest film in the career of a genius filmmaker

  • I personally think his best film is Stardust Memories but this film is an absolute heartbreaking delight, from beginning to end. Just perfect.

  • this work is pure genius, the best mixture of comedy and drama i have ever seen, woody, needless to say, is a true auteur

  • Absolutely brilliant film. Woody Allen is a master filmmaker and my favourite director.

  • great movie, one of his best - i love the dual-story approach and how takes the loose ends together finally.
