What a moron. Marx was wrong about everything. Economics is NOT science, nor is history. The 'working class' is a category not an entity in itself. Lenin was a power-crazed mass murderer who created the secret police, concentration camps, and abandoned the rule of law within weeks of seizing power. What if the 'working class' don't want to live in a socialist tyranny? Will they just be murdered? When ever extreme left candidates stand for election they obtain 2-3% of the vote at best.
He was a phenomenal revolutionary, theorist, writer, and orator who lucidly expressed classical, original Marxism. At the same time, he had a wonderful sense of humor and and a warm-heart. R.I.P., Comrade Tony Cliff. You are missed.
But he was always changing his mind in opposite directions. Read the two editions of his biography of Rosa Luxemburg when first he supports her against Lenin's idea of the party and then, with no explanation, in the second he attacks her in favour of Lenin's idea of the party. What had changed? Reality? No, Cliff's ambition.

Indeed, I saw him speak many times at Marxism and even a couple of times at branch meetings. Always inspiring and imaginative. He is greatly missed.
