  • Jeremiah 10:1-4 clearly refers to idol worship. The tree cut from the forest is 'wrought by craftsmen with the adze..'verse 3b. The Christmas tree is not carved into an idol with ornaments of silver and gold to be adored. It is a symbol of the everlasting, ever-green, love of God which came among us in Christ who described Himself as a Vine, the tree of life. The ornaments which are hung on it, symbolise the fruits of Christ's redemption. Let us not misinterpret the Scriptures!
