  • Your ice maker is only producing 10 cubes per harvest in this video. It should be producing 12 cubes per harvest. Your water supply is poor or clogged. It could be that the ice maker water level switch is improperly adjusted. Under the cover in the front of the ice maker there is a screw that has a + & - sign. If you turn the screw about 1 rotation toward the + side it should about be the proper water level. Your ice maker dates back to before 1988.

  • when I was a fair amount younger, I worked on industrial ice makers, like 1,500 pounds of cubes per 24 hour cycle :-)

  • That soundtrack is quite familar to me. When I was a kid, my buddy and I would play `spaceship' in our rooms. We used that SW broadcast to give us the ambience of contact with mission control!

  • i thought some alien will jump out of my computer in the end what a wierd sound.......nice vdo

  • You don't have any of corn growing or paint drying do you? LOL

  • whats up with the audio its all fuzzy and has a voice and beeping and it gets louder and softer.

  • It's WWV, the standard time signal. I put a shortwave radio at either 5.000 or 10.000 MHz into the audio input of the VCR to have a time reference on the tape.

  • weird i have a shortwave AM/FM portable radio can I pick up this signal somehow? and why put a signal like this into an ice maker video? just asking.

  • Yes it's a fairly strong signal (broadcast from Ft. Collins CO) in the entire continental US. No real reason I put it on there though

  • I shot a video of my Grundig SW radio at 15.00 mhz and its playing this signal but its very very weak i ended up shooting maybe 10 minutes of video and only 2-3 times it came in decent. i dont think ill post that one b/c its kinda boring. all it is is the signal and footage of my radio.

  • Wow. I think this is the most exciting video I have ever seen!

  • Yes

WWV is literally my favorite radio station

  • So ice is really made by an atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado? Neat, I did not know this.

  • That is a 25 year old Whirlpool built Side by Side. May be branded Sears Kenmore

  • Correct, I think it's date stamped 1985

I didn't totally figure out what was wrong with it before it started working on its own again. Part of it was the stripped-out gear though

  • Good old Whirlpool Ice maker

  • that's

    that's ridiculous

it's not evIT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY
