Genie didn't look her best here. Hair is too long and brittle, probably due to years of hair dying. But she was gorgeous when she came back the last time. Amazing what loosing a few pounds will do, plus the short hair suited her better. Genie is a beautiful woman but a spectacular beauty when thinner.
One of the main reasons Genie left in 02 was because GH kept letting Tony Geary basically play God around there as far as his scheduling/vacations/pay was concerned and Genie, well, let's just say she wasn't even allowed to choose her vacation times, not to mention a BIG pay difference between her and Tony; and really she's been with the show longer than he has, so it became an issue of principal and she finally had enough and walked. That's why they gave her such a crap send off.
To add to the above, GH has only expressed interest in Genie when they need a ratings boost like during Sweeps periods, so really I don't blame Genie at all for going on to do other things until TPTB at GH pull their heads out of...you know where. GH has a very sorrid history of showing male actors preferential treatment. Remember Reese? The actress playing Reese was fired for becoming pregnant. BTW, anyone catch Genie's Hallmark movie 'Giving Love a Chance?
@Matuatay2 and she 's the one who kept his job for him. When Monty saw the chemistry and didn't have him killed off. If not for her he would've moved on. Bring her back and with Tracy his one and only now. it sucks for that.
@MrsLukesotherlaura Oh if Laura returns one day I think it will put Luke in a very ineteresting spot. I just don't see him saying "Sorry Laura, it was fun with you but Tracy and I were meant to be." Now, he and Laura are supposed to have been "talking" via phone during all this time she's been in Paris and she supposedly "understands" his having a child with Holly while they were married, his marriage to Tracy, etc...but that's not the Laura I remember. She'd be spitting nails! lol
