Acanthosis Nigricans is usually caused by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or insulin resistance accompanying the P.C.O.S or type 2 diabetes. It's not typically associated with ''Cancer'' or tumors like you said unless of course we're talking about a cortisol producing tumor in the pituitary or adrenal gland which is called ''Cushing's Disease'' (which is usually benign)- but that is a rare cause of A.N.

I actually been trying to put on weight.. I've always been thin, n recently I tried to control what I eat for my health, but that made me lose weight even more n I think I'm anemic now.. One day u spoke about a site from dr Oz about putting on weight the good way I think? Please let me know .. Do you know a way to treat Keratosis Pilaris?? my brother and i both suffer from this skin condition, we know its not genetic because our parents dont have it. I feel very uncomfitable and insecure during the summer because i always have to wear pants to cover them. If you know any information on treating this condition I'd greatly appreciate your help!
