Haha, well good to hear!! You know what you should do? You should actually make a blog! About where your gonna travel in the new future (SINGAPORE. :D), and be open to new ideas for yr stand up by putting up a tagboard where people can tag & give you new ideas! :D
Ahaha thanks for the ideas, people already complain to me I write too much in the blog I have now, ahah they will probably come knocking on my door if I add another one :P...
Ahaha thanks for the support!! :D I've got to divide myself into two people so I can focus on both languages! and work on some new stuff for both sides.... quite a challenge :P But in time it'll come I'm sure!
hey Viv, do you ever come to the US? You should perform here in california, maybe in sf?? Im sure you'd get alot of people showing up. Love your material by the way haha.
lol they do that in supermarkets too. Imagine all the Filipino and Indonesian maids speaking fluent Cantonese too? There'll be no joy for the cashiers. :p
people from HK talked to me in english... so i talked back to em.. haha then when they get stuck i start talking canto and their like uhh okay and their all happy cuz they can understand me
lmao ive speaked chinese all my life. i went to mainland china people thought i was a native so =P. i dont have a gailo accent. i have a "zhongshan" accent. =P
Hi there vivek, im from hong kong, migrated to singapore, just drop by to tell you i enjoyed your comedies, they are awesome, not many indians can speak canto, must be hard eh?
hey your cantonese stand up is goood! I haven't really seen any stand ups in Cantonese besides 黃子華 and 林海峰 since they are the only mainstream ones and I don't have access to the non mainstream ones since I live in the US. IMO, they are alright, but I like your comedy style more. It has more of an American sense of humor.
That's great.... My canto is probably as good as your Hindi ;) .... Quick question. What does "Molo Cha" literally mean? I know it's slang for "yun doh yun" but what are the Chinese characters for "Molo" and "Cha". Does "Cha" refer to the word for "tea"?
WOW, your cantonese is VERY fluent :D. 5/5 stars :D

Well, I'm sure you know this already - the Hong Kong girls love the gwailo Cantonese accent, so you've already got a good advantage. ;)

I am chinese and your cantonese is probably better than mine. :)
Well, I'm more of a mandarin speaker, but my mom is canto. I just can't get the pronounciation...
I can only count to 10 in canto, and say Ngo Oi Yum Sui ( I want to drink water ) :P

Ahaahha, my Mandarin is probably on par with your Cantonese then....

I've met a few Indians who can speak Cantonese, maybe not as fluently as myself but still enough to communicate for business.
Yep, learning Cantonese was a nightmare for me when I was young, but it's paradise now :)

Ahaha yikes, I barely speak Hindi really :( I can read/write Chinese which is awesome but I can't type it on a computer :\

derekinla 4 years ago
Well "Cha" is 叉 as in "fork" or "burnt" and Molo, I believe if I'm not mistaken is just to make it sound insulting :P
vivekmahbubani 4 years ago
For the record, it's actually illegal to use that word in Hong Kong now. :s

LOL wtf he can actually speak canto.
