  • you're making marks all over the walls.

  • @pattanac Yeah to show you.

  • Simple, clear, easy. Thank you!

  • Thanks you so much . So simple made me feel stupid .

  • hahahahahahahahahahaa that face hahahaha

  • but whabout the horizontal bracings if you wanna hook something on it?

  • Awesome. I can't believe I never thought of this. Thanks.

  • @pegwinn Sometimes its the easy things we over look.. Thank you so much.

  • This made me realize that you could find a stud this way and if you are looking for a more elusive one further down, you can measure out the rest of the studs on the wall (assuming they are 16" on center). I guess the further away you get, the more prone to small errors adding up. But less error if you are just looking to hang something at the next stud over. Thanks for the tips!

  • once you find one of them, how far are they apart to find the others?

  • @StudLeez34 nevermind i read some more and it seems 16" is the standard... durrrr lol

  • @StudLeez34 Yes most of the time that would be right. However older homes don't hold true to that. At least all of the time. Now that would also depend on what side that framer started from as well. So don't just assume 16" on center.

  • that's a good ass idea

  • You're a lifesaver! I used this video to locate the studs in the wall without a stud finder to hang a new LCD TV on a mount in our bedroom. Your little electrical outlet trick did the trick! Thank you so much for this awesome and useful video.

  • That has got to be one of the BEST little DIY videos I have ever seen. Short, sweet, packed with ALL the info I need . . . and FUNNY too, but not in a gratuitous way. Dominick, thank you!

  • that would of ruled if he would of accidentally stuck the nail in the plug socket ZAPPP lol

  • Thank you! I've had a stud finder for a while but i've never been sure if I was using it right. Now i'm more confident before I make that hole in the wall!

  • hey dominic do you ever yell at a cab "hey Im walkin here!"

  • @JBLAKIE1 No. but I have been known to yell out "Go back to Jersey "

  • @DominickDiy

    great videos dude

  • Thanks!!

  • Great video Dominick. Thanks a lot.

  • I like this dude..

  • Maybe it's just in Canada, but here our studs are typically 16" apart, so if you find one, you can expect to find another 16" away. At least with houses that were built properly.

  • u explained it very well =)

  • Thank you!!!!

  • thanks for the nail part of the video really good way to make sure .. . every stud finder ive used is off at least by a little

  • @ladangelo202 Yea that way you'll know for sure

  • another good video by dominick

  • Thanks to your video I have done most of the renovation in condo myself. Thank you! I wanted to install a chair rail and I was wondering if you'd be able to do a video on that when you get a chance. I'm too scared to do the inside miter cuts. I don't think my walls are exactly 90 degrees and I don't know how to cope. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos. Saved me a lot of money by sealing the windows too. Thanks again!
