Such an interesting style Per Nilsson has. He never bends. He slides EVERYTHING. I really like the legato feel it gives these bizarre (yet fascinating) solos.

Its also a physical impossibility to do everything a 7 does on a 6. A 7 has a wider range of sound because of the extra string. Even if you tune the 6 to Drop B, you still dont have the extra high e.

Fact is, you can do more with a 7. Deal with it

Per's style is much closer to Holdsworth's than Shawn Lane's. The note choice and fluid legato stuff has definitely Holdsworth influences. Hell, Per himself said Holdsworth was in his opinion the best guitar player.

Ibanezbloke, Holdsworth has alot of relation to Per infact, if you listen to his other solos you can't miss the similarities in phrasing and (on some solos) note choice.

But that's nothing to do with my point, it wasn't to do with how similar they are, it was to do with Allan being on the more extreme side of progressive playing, Per is alot more melodic in comparison so the guy will dislike Allans style more.

And no, it's not usual for most Europeans to know five or six languages. Basicly we just know our native language, English and sometimes we also know the basics for a third language (here in Sweden, a majority of today's students studies either German, French or Spanish in high school). But in some parts of Europe, like in the Benelux area and Switzerland, it's more common to know three or four languages due to the're small countries and that they are sorta' wedged in between Germany and France.
