Here is my take on Rod Stewart vs Sara Evans. Rod Stewarts version aims to the ladies and Sara Evans aims to the men. I seem to relate more to Sara evans singing and would bet the people saying rods version is better are women. At least that is what I think.

This is my favorite Rod Stewart song! I thought he was great in the 80's! I guess I am partial to that decade since I graduated high school in 1984! So many made fun of the 80's music, but I thought it fun. Music is suppose to be fun! It doesn't have to make a political statement! The music of today is horrendous! I heard sara evans version today for the 1st time & immediately thought of rod's version. sara's is good and considering what she's been thru, the song is very dear to her. That being said, rod's is just better, hands down. The song fits his voice & him like a glove. I haven't heard this song in 4+years, and haven't seen this video since the glory days of MTv, but it still takes me back(this came out in 84-85 I think). Rod has one of those voices, that's hard to explain & that's a good thing

Just got done listening to Sara's version. I can't believe her record company said okay let's release your version Sara. It was absolutely boring. Her voice was annoying and too weak for this song. She can't belt it out, nor did she have emotions behind it.
