  • That is AMAZING.

  • No pop culture. Got here on my own from surfing beautiful music shit.

    Insane.

  • 37 people that probably only listen to ke$ha.

lern 2 not pop culture, random 37 n00bs

  • I actually know how the overtones work, how to "pronounce" them. But the deep one he does, I just can't get it how it works? It's amazing. Anyone here who could teach me how it works? (deep ones..)

  • I thank the pop culture show that brought me here.

  • Sheldon brought me here.

  • amazing music playing... do other people around dance than ? or it is played only for own family?

  • The Camera-man is searching at 4:34 what makes the whistle sound then at 4:41 realizes that he is doing that from his throat.

  • Oh my god how is it possible to release such powerful notes, it really looks like my headphones are going to explode right now xD.

    Very beautiful music.

  • the Western Cello, violin, and viola are all direct descendants of these Mongol and Chinese stringed instruments. Note how the bow is strung with horse hair. This is very reminiscent of Mongol culture.

  • Wow wonderful!! Thank You!!

  • I thought no one cared about my culture, 602,807 views proved me wrong.

  • @TheTmoomoo Why do you care if people care about your culture?

  • @TheTmoomoo People who are into world history and culture truly know the Mongol's contribution to the world. I love Mongol history and culture. I am of Asian descent myself. My ancestry from loooooong ago is Chinese and Mongol. I and a few of my cousins were born with the Mongolian blue mark. The Mongols were the greatest military force to ever exist and their contributions to the world far outweigh the exaggerated "evils" the Mongols committed. Chinnghis Khan was a remarkable man. So was Kublai

  • @aa3gunner

I agree. It is nice to see that the chin are releasing their grip on this country at last, and Temujin can walk out of the shadows and earn the respect as others have already even though they did not conquer as much land mass as he and his sons. And to learn that 1 out of 20 men walking today have his genes, amazing.

  • @TheTmoomoo There is ALWAYS someone who is watching listening and wanting to learn more.

  • @TheTmoomoo Not everyone in the west is brainwashed by the modern absolutely abhorreous and soulless western culture.

  • @TheTmoomoo

I care. I think it's amazing and I'm a Texan American. I have great respect for your culture.

  • That is completely nuts!! Amazing world we live in.

  • @Tanfeliz Amazing, true. Until America destroys it. I've heard they are moving out to Iran now...

  • i can khuumii

  • Fair to midland brought me here as well!!!

  • Thanks to Fair To Midland, I'm watching this interesting video. I'd like to do that throat singing so bad!

  • I looked this video up on my own, no pop culture show brought me here. I just like this music.

  • @nhancin Hipster much?

  • that was.... AWSOME!!!!

  • Im at that wierd part of youtube again...

  • @Marmellq sad that anything out of your small ignorant conformist western bubble is considered weird, your missing out on a lot

  • Very close to Sheldon.

  • i can see Metallica doing this in one of their tunes

  • @imsuckingwind Metallica can suck the balls of the people who pay their sorry asses. Mozart is 100x more hardcore.

  • @imsuckingwind dream theater has already done it, search up bridges in the sky

  • I love this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Need top practice your camerawork but its a nice video man, love te khoomi

  • ray mears brought me here

how do they do this stuff, it's amazing

  • this...is...METAL!

  • @mastrbutcher hell yes im a former metal head turned throat singer so yes i totally agree with you its really heavy!!!!!

  • @mastrbutcher no its not

  • LOL i thought it was marin whore LOL!

  • Roughly tranlated, the songs lyrics are: "Sing us a song you're the Mongolian Throat singin; man, sing us a song, tonight; well we're all in the mood for a Hoomil melody, and you've got us feeling alright, oh la diddy da, diddy da, la didi da diddy da, da dum"

  • Good god just the description game me cold chills

  • You guys should check out the song "Divine Moments of Truth" by Shpongle, they use apply a lot of throat-singing like this

  • I would love to visit Mongolia someday

  • Even here in sardinia have "tenores", who do a form of throat singing. May be there is something in common :D

  • at 4:19, he sounds like he says "bunghole" ... reminds of beavis and butthead :)

  • lyrics?

  • @Knuckleheada

Where you got me talking about inheriting a culture, I don't know. I was simply mentioning I wish I had my background in a more culture-heavy country. I don't really see much of a "culture" in America.

The disadvantage to a "Melting Pot" as it were is you generally lose the individual tastes over time and come up with a single flavor, which doesn't HAVE to be a good one.

  • WOW!!!

  • 35 people have a mickey mouse voice...

  • beautiful

  • @Freodeo

I associate with a lot of groups as well.

But, while I GUESS it's nice that I'm not really able to be fit into "one category" like African-American or Irish and be ridiculed by jackoffs, I don't necessarily feel White either. I'd much rather be able to say "I'm British" or "I'm Russian" than just "Yep. I'm White, I guess."

As much as people would like to disregard nationality and background, it's also a part of who you are, and I wish I had a traceable one. That's all.

  • at 4:30 the camera man thinks that sound is coming from the instrument as is like "this is nice, I guess" but then at 4:41 it zooms back to the face as if he's thinking "WHAT THE FUCK!?"

  • It's incredible cultural things like this that make me wish I wasn't as mixed as I was in my background.

Having no culture makes me jealous of anyone who does have one, or at least is a high percentage of one specific culture.

  • @Wonocva15 no need to feel this way, im mixed as well and i dont care to have to associate to any one group, ill associate myself to any group i feel like at the moment

  • @Wonocva15 Culture is not something you magically inherit in your genes... your culture is the one you are born into.

  • @Knukleheada You are born into your culture, but able to affect it with talent whether its a big or a small place :) People like Madonna, Van gogh, Steve jobs or Albert Einstein invented something to the culture, that later became a part of it because culture is not nameless nor something to be overseen :)

  • That was awesome

  • Such a soothing language...

  • fu#### dubstep

  • I MUST LEARN!

  • native Americans were used to be a Mongolian. during the ice age we separated. if you just google it and see some pictures, we look like so similar to each other. even they have got same ancient religion called "SHAMANISM". if you investigate these sort thing further more, it is really really interesting.

  • @tvuzii I actually believe that their way of life and the way they look are exactly the same America is basically asian

  • Bullshit, Native americans are Proto-Mongoloids, Mongolians are neo-Mongoloid like people from east asia. If Native americans are asians, Pakistani, Persians, Afghans, Iraqs are also white people. The only ones that are close to Mongolians are eskimos and inuits who were effected by the ice age. But the other Native american tribes are far from being the same, you would have to call arabs and Kurds white too if you call them asian.

  • @owardis397 Hahahaha settle down go back to your basement and put your nose back in your books man haha nobody cares

  • @owardis397

Glad to see someone can differentiate between the two populations. Folks who keep up the whole mongoloid concept seem to think it was a common phenotype eons ago.

  • @QUEEFMUFFINS

The entire world is basically African, because you know that homo sapiens originated in Africa.

  • @tvuzii

There were no mongolians during the Ice Age. Not all Natives look similar to mongolians. Native phenotypes are varied. The ancestral population of Natives was far older than any "mongoloid" type which explains the non-"mongoloid" phenotypes of some Native groups. By the way, look up Masai dancing and you'll notice that the Masai people from Kenya (in Africa) also have throat singing. Does that mean that mongolians used to be Masai people?

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mongolians remind me a lot like our Native Americans... their relationships with their horses, the language is made in the throat as opposed to our more common mouth sounds. Awesome stuff.

  • sheldon cooper sent me here

  • at first i thought he said he found a guy that could play the moaning whore

  • Skip to 4:05 to hear the singing

  • That's got to kill your throat after doing that for a long period of time.

  • @patron40silver

Not like you'd think. The superior vocal chords, which are used in this sort of singing, are very sturdy, even if you hardly ever use them.
