I'm curious. What are those little holes in each of the concrete slabs? I notice your rendering has mostly eight of them per square whereas Azuma house itself has four holes per square. I know it's a trivial question, but it's something I've wondered about for the past several years.
@phillippibeard These holes come from the mold in which the concrete is cast. There are some rods in regular distances that hold the mold together. Normally they are filled up with something, but Tadao Ando left it like that. So the holes are not just decoration, they have a functional cause. (Sorry for my bad english :))

The parts of the walls aren't as in Tatami size :O 1,90 x 0,95, 2 x 3 holes.
by the way... there isn't any way to get on top of the roof, right? o.O
