It can't see the hair because there is no pigment, if you use a spray called Meladine, it appears light brown to the laser, and will work on white gray or blonde hair. I'm on my 5th of 8 treatments and the results are amazing my hair on my chin is white about 1/3rd is gone the hair on my upper lip was 1/3rd dark and 2/3rds white about 2/3rds is gone and I still have 3 more treatments to go.
