  • is this the whiskey with the wax top?

  • There are videos on YouTube of interviews with Bill Samuels Jr, and he says the origin of the name came from his mother. She was a collector of old colonial pewter (I think) bowls and so forth, many of which were engraved with the "maker's mark" if it was a piece they were especially proud of. He didn't say anything about horse races... Also, what's that top made of again? I didn't quite catch that.

  • @daverockpguay Hi. I think it's generally accepted that Scotch whiskies are called 'whisky'. American whiskey has the added 'e'. Just a slight transatlantic difference. Personally, I couldn't care less - if you find a spirit you like and can afford to buy, just enjoy it.

  • @s10m0t10n the scotch have always called theirs whisky, the irish whiskey......there are american whiskeys with both deriviations, it's usually based on the heritage of where the people came from who first set up the distillary.
