The owner of a property is held liable for the maintenance of said property. In a rental scenario the tenant, remember now the occupants no longer own the home they merely pay a lease to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, can sue the owner (with this program the government now owns the home) to bring about proper and necessary maintenance. For all practical purpose the gov will be responsible for and can be forced to provide maintenance. Peter gave examples, we're not talking about taking trash to curb.
That most certainly does not mean that the government will pay for maintenance. It just means they are the responsible party. What they should do and what they actually do, we know, are completely different things.
You see MASK, MIAMI this is what is wrong with most people. They don't take the time to get to the facts.
I went and did something most would find funny, I went to Fannie and looked. The RENTER MUST AGREE to keep the place up to par, NOT the landlord/owner. It MUST also be up to snuff prior to entering the program. Unfortunately Peter has painted an incorrect picture wrt to this point. Don't get me wrong, it's still a failed gov-cluster-fuck of an idea so in the end it won't matter, I agree.
The gov't may not pay for maintenance during the "tenet" stay...but what happens after? In other word, the tenet has no incentive to keep the place up...eventually moves out and leaves a shit hole behind how does the gov't landlord rent the place out again? The gov't can't, so now it has to pay for all the upkeep that was neglected during the tenet stay. It's really a case of pay now or pay later...but the gov't will pay.

What the gov't wants is that the people not own their own property. So what if these houses need maintenance. The land itself is what the gov't wants back, so it can rent it. That way the people will have no security, they can never own their own home, and can pay and pay and pay rent all their lives. As insecure, frightened sheep, citizens will take up arms against whatever country the gov't wants to have a war with. Plenty of people know the gov't itself is responsible for the recession.

I think the US gov't deserves to go bankrupt and for the citizens to bare the burden. The average person did not say a thing against or question the phony economy.
Anyways, municipalities and states are being bankrupted by having these homes stay vacant and continue to be built. All those vacant homes still require local infrastructure like electricity, water, sewage, roads, etc. Gov't is bankrupted even if they try to maintain prices. Vacant homes = squatters, arsonists, druggies, vandals.

On it they claim that housing is a Constitutional right, apparently. So it seems that Fanny Mae's actions are exactly in line with the governmental mandate of the present administration. The owner of a property is held liable for the maintenance of said property. In a rental scenario the tenant, remember now the occupants no longer own the home they merely pay a lease to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, can sue the owner (with this program the government now owns the home) to bring about proper and necessary maintenance. For all practical purpose the gov will be responsible for and can be forced to provide maintenance. Peter gave examples, we're not talking about taking trash to curb.

I went and did something most would find funny, I went to Fannie and looked. The RENTER MUST AGREE to keep the place up to par, NOT the landlord/owner. It MUST also be up to snuff prior to entering the program. Unfortunately Peter has painted an incorrect picture wrt to this point. Don't get me wrong, it's still a failed gov-cluster-fuck of an idea so in the end it won't matter, I agree.

The gov't may not pay for maintenance during the "tenet" stay...but what happens after? In other word, the tenet has no incentive to keep the place up...eventually moves out and leaves a shit hole behind how does the gov't landlord rent the place out again? The gov't can't, so now it has to pay for all the upkeep that was neglected during the tenet stay. It's really a case of pay now or pay later...but the gov't will pay.

With or without the 'new plan' the current owner can always walk and leave the Gov or banks on the hook anyway. There are may stipulations to be allowed in this program in the first place. "The rental income from the property is anticipated to cover ongoing maintenance and management costs."
That means Fannie pays for it.
"The occupant agrees to be responsible for regular maintenance, to keep the property in good condition, and to permit marketing of the property for sale."
Standard lease agreement language. Tenants are always required to minimally maintain the place. The landlord--Fannie Mae--is still on the hook for repairs.
So Peter's right.

They may want to get out of this mess, but they're not going to give anyone (tax paying American) a way out of this that easily. No, Peter is not right wrt to this, other than to say it is a cluster-fuck, which is something we've all agreed with from day one. Have a good one.

There are plenty of people in computer/network security that believe in what you do and can prevent or minimize the impact of these attacks. I considered a position in your company but you never post jobs for computer guys.
