  • Her voice was never pitched, she is supposed to sound non-human because the character singing it in the movie is an alien. She could easily do those runs but they made her sing each note and simply put them together to create that robotic, almost like a opera-vocaloid sound. They probably used a wind instrument to add to the "alien-effect".

  • thats her voice only there is no wind instremint

  • 4:18 it's not human voice :)

  • At 4'05" in this analysis, there's a combination of voice and some wind instrument, the notes come interspersed, voice and instrument take turns. That gave me in the beginning the impression of artificial engineering. Otherwise, in any other places, the voice is natural. And exquisite.

  • What bit rate is that audio clip? And where do you think I could get it? I'm looking for a high quality clip of the aria and diva dance.

  • At 1:07 you can clearly hear that it is a synthesizer, as well as in 1:12 . No human who is into music business can say otherwise, this soundwave of yours proves nothing. It is HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SING LIKE THAT!!!

  • @Bozidar88 maybe or maybe not, if you check out the video "laura sings the diva dance" where that chick does a cover of it she gets really really close to nailing it. The transitions are a tiny bit slower, but she's also probably not a pro singer. I think it's possible, but the amount of people on the planet capable of doing it is very very small.

  • @mezmir

"Close to" is not the same as "nailing it" and I did see the video you are pointing to. I truly believe that Mula is a great singer, but let's not get over our heads... Keyboard players know what I was saying, because you have 10000000 types of chorus and voices to choose, thus creating a song like this. (EXCEPT THE ONLY PART ALTERED HERE IS THE ONE I STATED EARLIER.)

    Peace!

  • But I thought Inva Mula said that song was cut to pieces to suit the music because vocally it was impossible. so they recorded her making the notes then cut them together to create the music.

  • But damn, 4:15 sounds like a flute note. :( Maybe it's just me. I don't know. Actually that part at original tempo makes it sounds real, but when slowed down, it sounds like it might've been synthesized. What do you think?

  • I find this vocal since a long long time I want to know how can I take it for use on FL since you I hope you can help me

  • listen to farinelli also......synthetizing a male and female voice together.... technically feasible...

  • ooh... cubase 5 you say? Hmmm... very interesting. Not being an ass either. I actually have that fucker somewhere. Now I know. And knowing's half the battle! G I JOOOE!!! lol Sorry, I had to do that. :D

  • she is a great singer indeed. but there are some parts that the voice was pitched even synthesized... you can do it your self in programs like Melodyne, Wave Lab, even in Cubase(preferably 5)...

  • hmmm well i always thought it was real...but around your 4.15 mark it makes me question.....definatly sounds like synth altered. hmmmm

  • urime si fillim!Doja te dija dicka tek pjesa poshte ku jane luhatjet e zerit si behet vertetimi sepse jane vetem nja dy nota qe mua me duken si mbinjerezore ?

  • I'm a believer. Thanks for all the hard work. All this time I thought for sure her voice had been a synthetic, computer generated fantasy. The human voice is apparently capable of FAR more than I imagined.

  • Ty for posting your opinion

  • @ManiKalici

you should listen at Diamanda Galas, if you want to wonder, then. She is actually able to do it , from live. Try a live performance of Diamanda Galas, if you don't believe, or just look some song on YT.

  • ShadenGheist, I'm far from being an opera buff, but I have heard enough impressive sopranos to never have thought that the Plavalaguna diva's voice was synthesized. Search for "Der Hölle Rache" ("Hell's Vengeance") from Mozart's "Magic Flute", for example, one of the most difficult and demanding arias ever. You will find some amazing renditions of ultra-high notes.

Although very campy and kitsch, look for popular Peruvian soprano Yma Sumac, too - her voice range was awesome.

  • @ShadenGheist her voice was repitched with keyboards you moron!.........watch the special fetures on the dvd......noone can sing like that......idiot!

  • @ibanez37x You must LIKE stepping on your dick. LMAO!!!

No one eh? Check the vid... Laura sings the "Diva Dance" from the Fifth Element.

  • @ShadenGheist .....at least i can step on my dick you fuckin dipshit........its ppl like you who make the rest of us look bad..............

  • @ibanez37x You don't need me to make you look bad. Now go get your Mommie to kiss your stepped on dick and make it feel better, Jack off.

  • @ShadenGheist No, even though Laura does a _very_ close approximation that gave me massive gooseflesh, it isn't a copy of what the Diva supposedly does. She isn't as fast and it seems she drops a couple of the deep notes entirely. And like ibanez says, watch the special features on the DVD..

  • @ibanez37x Yes, she can sing like that. Her voice wasn't altered. Except for the use of the flute.

  • @ShadenGheist

find the youtuve user Vladasunlight and watch her video cover of this song.

Watch that vid - it's the best live performance of someone other than Inva singing this song I've seen... amazing.
