@pasapasi He's to cool for 550d Lol But seriously, considering more people own the 550d than the other ones, I don't know why people ignore it so much.
@pasapasi@DynamiteStudios1 the video qualities of the 550D, 600D, 60D, and 7D are completely identical... its the photo capabilites that sets them apart... for video, a t2i is just as good as a 7D... :)
Hey what's going on with your audio? Are you going straight into a canon with a wireless unit? I'm getting great results without the hiss. May I suggest turning up the wireless and turning down the camera's audio level. Check out my JuicedLink demo to get some tips. I'd love to be an audio consultant for you guys. I'm gearing my latest videos to DSLR, mostly around audio and mics. Cheers
Great honest review of the jag35 electronic follow focus. Im looking at getting the wireless one with the stronger motor , J4 , NAB 2011 is right around the corner. Will you be there? i hope you cover it. I wanted the red rock iphone electronic follow focus but i dont think i can wait that long for it to be released. they keep delaying it. should i wait? thanks Chris XH-A1-SGblade / Nikkon Prime user
@idfilmspro We will be covering NAB and are hoping to try out Jag35's new wireless follow focus. I was excited about Redrocks microRemote system at last years NAB, but a year later we still don't see it. Their site keeps pushing back the launch date, so my hopes aren't too high. Regardless, the Jag35 model is more than likely going to be much cheaper.
Jag35 seems to have some nice gear at a good cost but I find their site VERY hard to navigate. They need to organize it better and build it around something other than a blog style page layout.
Slow down bro, try and slow your pace and exhale more when talking I can tell you're holding your breath a little bit when you talk which is why you're having to take so many breaths and may feel a little outta breath toward the end of your sentences. Just slow your pace just a little bit and relax. Takes practice, newsies have to learn it. But you're gettin good! Really enjoy your stuff. I come from a news background with video so far your DSLR stuff is one of the best.
Why does he always show gear that is so effing expensive? Idk about all of you but I ant got 500 dollars to spend on 6 rods and some screew things to hold em together, or a simple 1.5 v motor on a value measure circut, Comon man, it this is FOR people, do somethin for all the non-rich folk tryin to eager out their existance(??)
@lemmonsinmyeyes That's his sponsors equipment he's using, semipro/pro equip & priced accordingly, but ridiculous prices for the amateur that will never make their money back on the outlay. If there are cheap knockoffs from China we're probably never going to hear about them here.
Maybe get info about technique here, but then look elsewhere for affordable equipment for the amateur.
@lemmonsinmyeyes I only recommend gear that works and is a good value. If you are looking to invest in quality gear that will hold up to a production, wouldn't you want to see that gear in action?
If you would rather go the DIY route, you can just duct tape your DSLR to a board and use that as a shoulder rig...and you wouldn't need my help for that.
Our show is about gear (good gear), tips and training. If gear reviews aren't your thing, stay tuned for our other episodes with film training.
@NextWaveG Haha woah bro, I sence some poke, look I ain't ragging on your show, I started my own biz and with 4 grand I had some serious hard time finding proper gear, nd most people don't have that kind of starting capitol, but once (if) you make decent income I'm all for spending it however ya like, what I ment was other peeps in simmilar situation..., anyhow I do like the show nd will continue watching :)
@lemmonsinmyeyes Quit your whining fool, learning something if you can, otherwise try another tutorial. Dude is out here giving back, no thanks to your hating a**
Very informative!! Looking forward to more! I would have liked to have seen the 'in camera' view of the focusing in action. I'm interested to see how accurate it was to hitting it's mark. Nonetheless, nice episode!
Sorry about the audio, folks. The sound was clean in the render, but YouTube compression must not like that mic. I will order a new microphone before the next episode.
@AestheticCreations Thanks. The new format was a lot of work to get going, but I think it paid off. We have a lot more planned and this is just the beginning!
since the 60D has a swivel out LCD, can u use the straight rig without an external monitor, and just use the swivel out? thanks!

@Thomnasty That was one of Jag35's smaller rigs. Look on their site under DSLR products to see different packages.

there are plenty of other places for you to look at if you want cheaper stuff.
