I'm sick of people saying that today's artists are terrible, talented artists today are being shrouded by comments like that especially in Hip Hop. I love 90's hip hop it was the golden age, but if you keep saying rappers today are all like 50 and lil wayne than that stereotypes just gonna stick, which is not what music and especially hip hop is about. I'm 17 i think a lot of rap today is missing the true essence, but there's loads keeping it alive so don't knock just coz of shit ass sell outs.
theres still good music out there im 38 and have followed hip hop since i was 11 the uk is on point right now check out lstuk wiley durrty goodz low key k koke
i wouldn't say hip-hop is dead. I mean it's not illegal to throw on some throwback jams right? But seriously theres some great talent out there today. Q-Tip's stil making music, Atmosphere's hot as hell. quit bitching ppl seriously
They should do a live reunion and do this song or Electric Relaxxation. Btw, to the guy who said 90s kids don't know anything about this, my sister introduced me to A Tribe Called Quest years ago. I mean, I might not know as much as the people who heard their songs when they actually came out, but I know a little bit. One thing I know for sure is that they're better than most of those crappy artists these days.
@AustinSWW Don't ever write that on a page of this artist, they were all but free masons, they where blacks who preached the zulu nation and all. You piece of shit.
@MrNoWhereMan1965 She's on I Live And Die For Hip Hop by Kris Kross and A Junior Mafia track I can't remember the title too, isn't that enough? Tammy Lucas has been recording forever and has worked with Teddy Riley often.
...i was at Nathalniel Rochester Middle School. I had the '96 Grant Hills. i still caught the power rangers after school. i watched the wayans brothers later on and fresh prince reruns. i stayed on Conkey ave. mortal kombat all day!
all those who say hip-hop is lacking creativity need to turn off the garbage they here on the radio and get back where it started.... the underground! some of the all time greatest mc's and music i have been enlightened by i have heard within the last 5 years!
I think this song's album (Beats, Rhymes and Life) is the one with the hardest drums I've ever listened to... Oh my God! I think they went too far... Anyway, I like all albums of the Tribe, the early ones, this one and The Love Movement too. These last two ('96 and '98 ones), with their Dilla taste, are so underrated: they're fuckin' good and innovative; I only dislike the drums! haha It's a joke
No creativity in todays music and especially hip hop! Every shit artist is influenced by another shit artist and the songs just get worse and worse and all sound the same! Just because something sells...don't mean it is good. 50 sells records and his music is a complete fuckin joke compared to guys like Quest who are creative in everything they do! Creativity died as soon as year 2000 rolled around! Hip Hop is a joke today and most other music aswell!
it sells cuz they others have grown up with not knowing wuts good and they think if they like well maybe we all should like this, i see all the time they dont really like it, its not wanting to stand out and be ur own a listen to wutever
@Wrxrtd You're right about music dying in 2000. Its only one album made in the 21st century that I can say is good, and that album is "the chronic 2001" by Dr. Dre.
@damndisplace07 go check guru's albums, go check jeru the damaja albums, go check krs-ones albums, go check cunninglynguists albums, go check mackle mores albums, You have to improve your knowledge on today's hip hop rather then getting held back by the 90's music.
@damndisplace07 i forgot to mention R.a the rugged man, almost every single verse he spits is really crazy.. and hes still alive and producing albums.
@Wrxrtd i agree but there are still a few good hip hop artists doing it, necro &ill bill and there affiliates, vinnie paz and jedi mind tricks (army of the pharoes), ghostface/meth/raekwon.
but if you dont like that then yes you are out of luck lol im waiting for a good hip-hip artist to come out of london, it will happen lol
God damn I miss the 90's :((((((((( I miss real hip hop too... :(((((((( Real music in general... What we get today is shit, shit shithishtiahsithsit !!!

I think I've heard the chorus somewhere before...it was probably sampled by a new artist on some song. Does anyone know?
