My husband was not satisfied with his new job at TN, so the first day he started looking for somewhere else and got an offer in FL so here we are!

i could do a dishwasher with no garbage disposal, or a garbage disposal with no dish washer, but doing without both would be hard. unless i had a beach less than a mile away. yeah, that would be nice. :-)

HA! No kidding!!!!! I did find a portable dishwasher on line I think I'll order. As for a disposal, it's an old house and not wired for it, so I don't think it's going to be an option : (

I didn't use the dishwasher when I HAD a dishwasher. It's so good to see you again! Hope you will like Florida. Way too hot and humid for me. But if you are near the beach that is a definite plus!

You know, washing dishes really doesn't bother me. What bothers me is not having a place to store dirty dishes. I hate having them pile up in the sink. With 5 people I can't seem to keep them from piling. At least with a dishwasher I don't have to see them.

We have no disposal or dish washer. Dish washers and driers are rare here. Most people do it by hand and hang things outside to dry in the sun.

I hope you are a big help to your wife! I think who ever cooks the meal shouldn't have to do the dishes, but it doesn't seem like anyone around here agrees with me. France was like that too.

Ugh! Dishes.

What I do is rinse all the food off at hyper speed and then throw them all in the deep sink with scalding hot water and detergent. And then I just run away.

When the water cools down, I scrub 'em quickly and throw them in the drying rack.

So when do we get our invitations to come visit sunny warm Florida?

We can shop, you can cook, and then we'll do all the dishes. :)

Then we'll babysit the children so you guys can have a few moments of pin-drop silence.

I have started making the hot soapy water BEFORE dinner so everyone can, in theory, wash their own dishes when they are done.

All that sounds great.  I'll make spaghetti! Caesar salad, French Bread, and green beans. Then we'll head over to the snow cone hut for dessert!

Party of 5 here! Lots and lots of dishes. I have to make big dinners so that's a lot of pots and pans and utensil too!

The world of medicine seems to require a lot of moving. This one was an extra move. Hopefully we can settle after residency. I really like where we are right now. I wouldn't mind staying put!
