Interesting.... It seems there are in fact mountain bike touring companies that will take you to the Gobi desert, it is 100% on old jeep tracks NOT downhill as this shows.

This is a good example of what riders try to emmulate over here in the states and the reason mountain bike trails and riding areas are getting closed. I'm an avid mountain biker but this video portrays the "gnarly, thumbs up shreddin'' persona. Sad.

However if i was to get rescued by a search party i would have to make sure that the door was in the open postion when they arrived, i dont think they would be too pleased if they traveled all that way to save me only to find that they are locked out when they get there.
