Thanks for posting a guitar tutorial for this great Bruce Springsteen classic. For pianists, the sheet music for Roy Bittan's wonderful piano part on "Born To Run" can be found at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm - a note-for-note transcription.
That was a pretty cool way to play it, The way the boss does it on the acoustic is in G but this is cool for people wanting to play unplugged but in the original key and tempo. I also believe that E7 chord that you had trouble identifying would be an E9 chord. Keep it up man, it's sounding good.
