  • Cops somehow forget that it is we the people who pay there frigging saleries. If you give an inch they will always take the mile!

  • Back in late 1999 and early 2000 I got pulled over four times in three months while driving home from work, I was starting to get a persecution complex. Only one of those times did the cop cite an excuse for doing so and I recieved no tickets. They all had one subject to question me about, my New Beetle...

  • There's a certain professional line that cops should not cross while on duty. Satisfying personal curiosity is unprofessional given their status as law enforcers and our current environment.

  • I hate seeing cops just stop and start asking someone questions because they have a mowhawk or something but to just say they can't stop and chat with someone is like saying the average joe shouldn't be able to knock on someone door and ask them directions. In a world where people can freely communitcate to one another I think most kinds of mistreatment will go away from a basic lack of stress and a feeling of openness. I think people should stop police to satisfy their curiosity if they want.

  • I think you missed words here:"on duty"

People on duty, every of them has first priority assignments. This includes many more people than police officers.

Chit chatting with this or that guy passing on the streets if you are a bank clerk might not be appreciated.

The key word is on duty.

  • and some people have a fascist work ethic like that, don't do anything but work. I don't. I think it's possible to acheive all tasks with some light breaks in between, to include chit chatting. If becomming a cop means living inside of a car and never getting a moment to talk to people what kind of work can we expect from them? I bet a totally undersocialized cop is much less sympathetic and prone to abuses of power like brutality. The best way to humanize somone is exposing them to humans

  • Fascist work ethic? Non believable.

Police officers are not socializers. They are here to represent the public authority.

I agree with police officers doing a lot of hours but not that much they cant socialize out of their work hours.

As to friendly police officers and abuse of power, there is no connection. You can have a cop who appears to be friendly and the day after abuse his power.

  • The public,, are they not society? Is not police officer a very social occupation? So if an officer works a ten day stretch the 4 days off are his only opportunity to interact with people in a less than professional manner? argue all you must but the idea that a cop can't pull over and say "Hey, whatcha doin?" is pretty asinine. Now if he pulls over and says "let me look in your back pack" then the 4th amendment comes up, until then cops have every right to chat with people if not otherwise busy

  • Well, it depends on what you call a social occupation. Definitively, a police officer is not a social worker.

Another issue is that how people can interact on a "casual" ground when facing a police officer? Police officers are not regular people.

Do people have rude behaviour when encountering each other? Yes, they do.

What about a guy who answers the police officer "carry off, no time for you. I am in a hurry"? (or worse of course) This happens often.

What do you think about that?

  • there are some laws out there which are annoying like "insubordination" which a cop might cite if you tell them to fuck off, but people shouldnt tell eachother to fuck off so I don't exactly call the aclu. However, if you don't want to say anything at all to a cop for any reason, you have that right, and if you ever get in court over it its your duty as an american to fight it until you set a national precendent. Its like the civic version of doing your laundry, nothing to complain about.

  • you should watch this video on google, google search for "Don't talk to police" and it should be the first one tha tpops up, it's from a lawyer lecturing a college I beleive about the 5th amendment. it's very comprehensive, sober and informative.

  • "I think people should stop police to satisfy their curiosity if they want. "

I do it all the time for directions, or if I run out of gas & need a lift.

  • Will, I am becoming more concerned as to why I look forward more to your next video than I do things happening in my own life. When are you scheduled to be finished so I can plan for it?

  • tomorrow he ends at 3pm at Hampton beach. Will! Please send us a message the exact details!

  • You can find the details at arrivalplans*walkforliberty*com (replace the * with . )

  • The walk finishes tomorrow (New Years Eve). HOWEVER, I *will* still continue doing videos afterward. :)
