Not going to reply directly to the previous argument given how long ago it occurred but I just want to mention this for other people visiting this wonderful video: In the US, it is required by law for ferrets to be altered (spayed or neutered) by the breeder before being sold. This is because female ferrets are induced ovulators and will die if they don't mate. So, on the off chance that a ferret escaped and managed to live, they could not form feral populations and thus present no real threat.
