  • At 80 years of age, I can remember WHEN....Thank you for the brightest spot in my Christmas this year.. God Bless you .

  • The Michael Buble/Shania Twain /(Kelly Rowlnd) duet(s) uses this arrangement but the light show makes this my fave Xmas find.

A wee treasure of a clip.

  • Its christmas and my christmas isnt white :( oh well. This song makes it a white christmas :) Love the song and love the light show with it :D good job!!

  • Soo sweet I love this song :)

  • Looooooooove

  • I love this song. Makes me want to boogie. I also love this video.

  • i am in the winter of my years..along with with this version and the RONETTES sleighbells ringing....and some hot chocolate.....i just feel warm...happy holidays to everyone

  • This song is SOOOOO Crunchy.

  • that was cool :)

  • super sounds

  • EPIC!!!!!!

  • Clyde at his best, not to mention Johnny Moore too. Oh how I wish those days would return when the music my so wonderful.

Last I heard, the Drifters version of WC has now outsold Crosby's version. Way to go Mr. McPhatter.

  • this is awesome!

  • The falcetto (sp, could be wrong) reminds me of Frank Oz doing Ms. Piggy. I could see a muppet rendition of this with Kermit as lead and Piggy as the falcetto (again I could be wrong with that.)

  • THE BEST CHRISTMAS SONG, THE BEST INTERPRETATION, VERY GOOD VIDEO!

  • duh duh duh du duh duh duh duh du duh ......

i remeber this song from home alone

  • Recovering16: You are right! R, there are other people on Youtube imitiating the Drifter's version of White Christmas!

  • the best christmas video i have ever seen!

  • This is a great Version. I heard it today! People still play this version. It is a welcome change of pace from Burl Ives, Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, Mariah Carey, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Gene Autry, Elvis, Jackson 5,Celine Dione,Toney Bennet, Dean Martin,Karen Carpenter, Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder,Josh Groban, Andy Williams, Amy Grant, Barbara Streinstand & Witney Houston

  • I wouldn't even call this a "cover". Yes, Bing Crosby had the original - and it's a true classic (including "Holiday Inn" where it was introduced), but this arrangement is so original and "50's doo-wop" it doesn't really seem like a "cover" to me. It's a classic in its own right. I love the cartoon of this, and now seeing it in a home display, it's perfect!!

  • This is THE Rock N Roll Christmas Song. Listen when Clyde takes the lead its like from another planet

  • I am amazed and delighted! I post a link to Held's "Christmas Card" every year on my blog, and consider this a wonderful addition to my annual Christmas post.

  • thats amazing!

  • Great job my friend. It is beautiful. Merry Christmas, DonH.

  • I love this so much!!!!

  • This is the best version of White Christmas... well, right up there with Bing's! This is the epitome of Christmas for me! To listen to this in the car, driving home on Christmas Eve! Happy Holidays, everybody! Many Blessings to each of you! Eat lots of Turkey this Thursday and God Bless America! ( I know, corny... but this song makes me happy!)

  • I had the pleasure working with the lead singer here Bill Pickney in the 70s many times. Clyde's son Ron was in Bill's group at the time of Bill's death. I believe if you watch the PBS special of The Drifters reunion , it was Ron singing his fathers parts.

  • Your video is fine, and flattering to The Noses cartoon, which I have enjoyed since it was posted. Somebody emailed it to me, as have done to many people each year afterward. Why did you change the "lead" singer reindeer and have it sitting when cartoon has it standing, except brief part of its performance? The "strut" and stance convey great attitude. Noticed a video of cartoon posted claiming Bing Crosby is singing.

  • :D ♥

  • Its good to know i'm not the only nut that is thinking about christmas already. I hope the holiday light(93.9fm) starts nov 1 this year!

  • Christmas will be here before we know it! :D

  • This is the definitive version; it'll never be topped. Elvis once said if he had a voice like Clyde McPhatter's, he'd never want for anything else. He also recorded "Money Honey", "Such A Night", and "Without Love", besides doing "White Christmas" exactly the way Clyde did it. Arguably the greatest voice Rock & Roll has ever seen.

  • absolute genuis video, may it bring happiness for years to come, great track,,,thxs

  • Hope you never remove this video. Thanks again.

  • jajajajajajaja

    in spanish

  • My favorite version of this song ever!

  • Actually on our website not only did I credit him but I have a link up to his site where they are located. He and I have spoken on several occasions and he like the the video. When I first posted this in 2007 I did not know who he was and it took several months to locate him and for him to reply.

    Merry Christmas to you too.

  • "xmas hell" is a delightful concept!

    I WANNA GO!

  • I just called in to my local radio station to request this, and they had never heard of it. o_O

  • what a find when this was used in home alone...........this should be placed right up there with the truly great christmas classics............

  • best version of this song! thank you soo much!

  • I want to thank you all for the kind words about my display. Everyone who comes to my house to visit really like the deer. To read the kind words from all who have viewed here is even more rewarding.

To give you a couple of details.

There are about 4,000 lights and I use 10 computer channels to control the lights. The hardware and software comes from a company called Light-O-Rama. Great people to work with.

  • wow, well done love the cartoon one too. very clever do do this in lights.

  • Oh by way I love the animatted deer group singing. Hats off to the creator lots of work. Merry Christmas Everyone

  • If you listen closley ,The background sounds like angels singing, and you can feel the snow comming down. Old Bing version never quit measured up to this . and I remember when this version came out. It was an Instant hit. Christmas isn't Christmas until I play this 100 times. God Bless the Drifters for this. Merry Christmas Every one

  • I had to look dis up im watchin "The santa clause" lol love it!

  • OMG me to XD

  • kool

  • classic

  • made me feel warm, 12 out of 10

  • This played every season around the Detroit area during my school years. Clyde began the high tenor leads for the most part. Our group worked hard to find a natural first tenor, but no one ever could come close to McFatter, who, so we heard, had wished he were a baritone. I also loved the B side--the Bells of St. Mary's. These were the best of times in a lot of ways.

  • The Late, and great,Clyde McPhatter was the original lead singer of the Drifters. Bill Pinkney, the last of the originals just passed away last year. I am from that era, 70 years old now, and these are the songs from my days as a teen. Saw most of the groups live, on stage, at the Alan Freed Rock and Roll shows in Brooklyn, NY. DOO WOP, the greatest music of all time.

  • This is a beautiful version, The Drifters have always been a peice of my heart when it comes to harmonies, although they changed artists, a few times, they still had the vocals. Their music will leave on for many years to come.

  • Yeah it's in both movies.

  • Haven't heard thisone in years. Thank you, YouTube, It sounds just as good today as it did years ago.

  • Actually its more like "jeg jeg jeg har løvehænder på Hawaii"

  • Actually they are singing DA Da... DA Da Da

  • Can anyone tell me why they sing danish around 1.39?? "Jeg jeg jeg har løvehænder"

  • i always wanted to find this.. cause of the film Santa Clause

  • I've been looking for this version of this song forever too and now I've finally found it!!! Yay!

  • the movie was home alone

  • I finally found it. I have had this version stuck in my head fr about a year now; I heard it in a movie a long time ago, but I coudlnt remember which movie and it took me until now to find this on youtube.

  • i had the same exact problem but then i saw "The Santa Claus" and it was in it so i waited for the credits and saw it was by the drifters so i searched it and i am so glad i found it

  • Hmm... I guess it has been quite a while since The Santa Claus first came out, so maybe thats where I first heard it, but I was thinking it was from watching something like a chevy chase christmas movie at least 12-15 years ago.

  • Best version of this song there ever was. I miss Christmas so bad. I wish there really WAS a Christmas in July. :(

  • This is nice.

  • This is at my house. Yes I put them up.

  • How did you get your reindeer and santa lights to be in sync with the song?

  • Where did you film this at? Did you put up all those Christmas lights yourself or is this at some other place?

  • I would love to see them singing this with their zoot suits on.

  • It's June and I'm searching for a Christmas song.

ANYWAY, I looooooooooove this friggin' version!

  • If anybody has a version of The Drifters ft Clyde McPhatter singin the Bells of St Marys

  • 'The Bells of St Marys' is the flip side of Clyde's/Drifters version of 'White Christmas

  • This is the best version of the Drifters in my opinion...NOT the POP Drifters in the F.....g '60s and 70s...This is the real McCoy...

  • someone knows WHO is the real voice in THIS particular song?? I know the drifters are the originals, but, these voices....OMG!, brilliant!!!!

  • That is the The Drifters with Clyde McPhatter.

  • It was recorded when the singers were younger.

  • @northbayintl

    Bass- Bill Pickney (1925- 2007)

    High Voice: Clyde Mcphatter (1932-1972)

  • imppreeeeesionanteeeeeeeeee!!!!bueniiiiisimaaa me recuerda a mi de pequeeeñoo viendo solo en casa jajajaja !:)

  • The song my pupils love !!! We always sing it and dance ! Isn´t it the best ???

    Greetings from Spain !

  • Way cool!!!

  • Great version !! I love it !!! Thanks for posting.

  • People dream to sing like this.

  • This is the best version of this song by far.

  • @INFINITEPUGGS

THATS RIGHT!!! Best Wishes and happy X-mas from germany

    ;-)

    Sgt.P.

  • @SergeantPaenzer Best wishes and Merry Christmas to you too.

  • @INFINITEPUGGS coz it's the original

  • @Alexboooom I know it's the original. Just because I like this version doesn't mean I think this is a cover - lol

  • @INFINITEPUGGS this IS a cover. The original was written by Irving Berlin and sung by Bing Crosby.

  • @leeilling That's good to know - cool

  • @Alexboooom this is not the original. Bing Crosby did the original. This was the cover, some ten years later.

  • my favorite christmas song. this is a great song to sing along to.

  • this is like my favorite song. i listen to it all the time even in the summer. haha

  • Me and my dad were singing this version of White Christmas the other day in the car. And it's not even the holidays!! We just love this song! lol

  • this is brilliant. i wouldn't mind seeing this featured on youtube's front page.

  • man, where did you find those lighting!!! In real life, does it play the music or just the lights alone??

  • this a great song and is a classic

  • Great job!I LOVE The Drifters version of White Christmas. And the lighting went along pretty well with it. Hope you had a Merry Christmas.
